WISSAHICKON 8, SPRINGFIELD 5
In the battle for third place in the SHSHL American standings, it was the Trojans avenging an early season loss to Springfield with a hard-fought win at Hatfield Ice.
Mack Risnychok’s five-point game included four goals and one assist and led the Trojans’ attack.
The Trojans led 4-3 after a goal by Joseph Gambino IV with 9:17 remaining in the second period. John Barr (Grayson Quinn assist) evened the score with a goal two minutes later, but the Trojans answered with a pair of goals in the final 5:28 to go into the third period with a 6-4 lead.
Chase McClintic (Risnychok/Dryden Jaisle assists) and Risnychok (shorthanded) scored for the Trojans with Risnychok’s ultimately standing as the game-winner.
Gambino scored early in the third period to put the Trojans on top 7-4. Gavin McManus answered for Springfield, but Risnychok connected on his fourth goal to give the Trojans their final margin of victory.
Fletcher Lynch earned the win in goal for the Trojans, turning away 24 shots.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 5, ABINGTON 2
The Colonials dominated the game statistically but found themselves in a real battle with the Ghosts, going into the final period with a tenuous 2-1 edge.
Three straight goals gave the Colonials some breathing room with one each from Blake Ambler, Brandon Wooldridge and Dan Molony. Lucas Evangelist scored a late goal for the Ghosts for the 5-2 final.
Daniel Guller’s three-point game (1g,2a) led a balanced PW attack. Wooldridge had a pair of assists while Ambler also had a two-point game with a goal and an assist.
Max Yoder notched the win in goal, turning away 21 of 23 shots he faced. Keeping the Ghosts in it was goalie Matthew Evangelist who recorded 54 saves in a strong outing.

Nine players contributed to the scoring in the Falcons’ mercy rule win over the Bucks. Shane Gleisner spent the night dishing out assists, finishing with six helpers to go along with two goals in an eight-point game. Shane Hicks had a five-point night (3g,2a) while Jacob Sarver (2g,2a) and Derek Nink (3g,1a) both had four-point game. Francis DeLucia and Gavin Schlotter both contributed a goal and two assists while Joseph Willard had a pair of goals.
The Falcons put this one away with an 11-goal outburst in the first period. Hicks scored less than a minute into the game, and Nink scored a goal that stood as the game-winner with 13:54 remaining in the period.
Jackson Hirsch’s power play goal early in the second period was the extent of CB West’s scoring.
Brendan Milliken was the winner in goal for the Falcons, turning away 18 of 19 shots faced.

PENNRIDGE 7, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 5
The Rams erupted for five goals in the third period, turning a 4-2 deficit into a 7-5 win. It is by far the biggest win of the season for a Rams squad that graduated the nucleus of last year’s successful squad.
Late in the second period, the Golden Hawks broke a 2-2 tie with back-to-back goals by Jordan Sarne in a span of 2:08 to send Rock South into the third period with a 4-2 lead.
Landan Bishop’s unassisted goal four minutes into the period made it a 4-3 game, but Sarne answered with his fourth goal of the game – this one shorthanded - to put the Hawks on top 5-3 with 11:43 remaining.
Two minutes later, James Rush scored an unassisted goal to make it a one-goal game, and Colby Booth’s power play goal with 8:08 remaining evened the score. Rush and Justin Dinsmore assisted.
Bishop broke the 5-5 tie with 3:40 remaining in regulation, scoring a goal that was once again assisted by Rush and Dinsmore. That 6-5 goal stood until – with three seconds remaining – Ryan Burke (Dean Venner assist) scored an empty net goal for the 7-5 final.
Rush (2g,2a) and Bishop (3g,1a) led the Rams with four-point games. Dinsmore finished with three assists.
For the Hawks, in addition to Sarne’s four assists, Jake Weiner had a hat trick.
Andrew Slutsky notched the win in goal for the Rams, turning away 36 of 41 shots he faced. The Hawks held a 41-30 advantage in shots.

Shane Gleisner led Pennsbury’s offensive barrage in its win over Souderton at Hatfield Ice, scoring five goals and assisting on another.
The Falcons opened up a 6-0 lead early in the second period on a goal by Shane Hicks only to see the Indians answer with four straight goals to make it a 6-4 game heading into the final period. Korbin Reynolds had a pair of goals in that 10-minute stretch while Cameron Fairweather (shorthanded) and Jackson Kelly each had single goals.
Gleisner opened the scoring just over two minutes into the third period with a goal assisted by Hicks and Nicholas Seely. Gleisner connected on his fifth goal – this one shorthanded with a Jaxon Pinto assist, and then it was Jacob Sarver finding the net with an unassisted goal to give the Falcons a 9-4 advantage.
Julia Kamisky’s power play goal broke the Falcons’ three-goal surge, but Pennsbury’s Francis DeLucia answered with a shorthanded goal for the 10-5 final.
Pennsbury held a 30-29 edge in shots with Brendan Milliken turning away 24 shots in a winning effort between the pipes.

Samuel Norton ‘s seven-point game – two goals and five assists – led the Knights to their decisive win over Neshaminy. Nolan Shingle had a five-point night with three goals and two assists while Christopher Silvotti IV collected a hat trick.
The Knights took care of business in a hurry, putting five goals on the scoreboard in the opening period. It began with a Silvotti shorthanded goal less than five minutes into the game and included a pair of goals by Shingle – the first on a power play – as well as single goals by Declan Leahy and Gabriel Dunn.
The Knights added to their lead in the second period and opened up an 8-0 lead before Neshaminy’s Angelo Veneziale broke up their shutout bid with a goal assisted by Nikita Evdokimov and Jake Topoleski.
Aidan Quigley earned the win in goal, turning away 10 of 11 shots he faced.

The Patriots fired 78 shots at West goalie Isaac Mays, who turned away 70 of them in a stellar outing in goal. The Bucks didn’t win, but they extended East for three full periods.
In a preview of things to come, May turned away all 21 shots he faced in the opening period, and the two teams went into the second period locked in a scoreless tie.
Moris Ostrobrod scored a goal that stood as the game-winner with 10:58 remaining in the second period. Samuel Wilsey had the assists. Colton Dryfus (Cole Kleindienst/Marat Khvasko assists) and Alex Wilson both added a goal to give the Patriots a 3-0 lead after two periods.
In the third period, the Patriots reeled off five unanswered goals – two by Benjamin Dempsey and one each by Braedon Hahn, Marat Khvasko and Brett Nolan for the 8-0 final.
Logan Mitchell turned away all 13 shots he faced in goal in the shutout win for the Patriots.

The Knights took a 1-0 lead into the second period when they exploded for six unanswered goals to seize complete control of the contest.
James Boyle’s unassisted goal accounted for the lone score of the first quarter.
Boyle ignited the six-goal second quarter with a goal six minutes into the second that was followed by single goals from Landon Hostetter, Samuel Norton, Christopher Silvotti IV, Ismael Cabrales and Nolan Shingle., and just like that, a 1-0 lead turned into a 7-0 advantage.
Andrew Norton earned the shutout win in goal, turning away all 15 shots he faced. Souderton’s Alexander Archer was credited with 41 saves.
