NESHAMINY 8, SOUDERTON 7
Chris Koehler turned a pass from Sean Mooney into a goal with 4:47 remaining in overtime, propelling Neshaminy to the dramatic win in its SHSHL opener at Hatfield Ice.
Koehler’s goal capped a gutsy comeback for the Redskins, who trailed 7-5 with less than five minutes remaining after a goal by Souderton’s Jackson Kelly (Evan Siegler assist).
Less than 40 seconds later, Angelo Veneziale (Koehler assist) scored to make it a one-goal game, and Neshaminy knotted the score with 15 seconds remaining in regulation on a goal by Carter Lennon (Veneziale assist).
Mooney’s four-point game (2g,2a) led the Redskins, who took a 4-3 lead into the final period when the Indians rallied to take the lead. Souderton led 7-5 with 4:48 remaining after back-to-back goals by Cameron Fairweather and Jackson Kelly.
The Redskins pulled to within one less than a minute later when Veneziale scored with a Koehler assist, setting the stage for Carter’s equalizer and the dramatic overtime finish.
Lennon had a three-point game (2g,1a) for the Redskins while Jake Topoleski (1g,1a), Veneziale (1g,1a) and Nathan Parker (2a) each had two-point games.
The Indians were led by the four-point game of Cameron Fairweather (2g,2a) and Matthew Cross (3g, 1a). Finishing with two-point games were both Jackson Kelly (2g) and Caden O’Neill (2a).

PENNRIDGE 11, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1
Landan Bishop had himself a night, scoring six goals and assisting on two others in the Rams’ SHSHL season opener at Hatfield Ice. Ryan Burke had a hand in six goals, assisting on five and scoring once.
The Rams led by just a 2-0 score after one period, and both of those goals came in the final 2:12. Bishop put the Rams on the board, and then it was Dean Venner (Burke assist) scoring a goal just over a minute later that stood as the game-winner.
Pennridge opened up a 6-0 lead in the second period before West got on the board with a goal from Tyler Ricci (Jackson Hirsch assist).
Kaden Gunning had a three-point game (1g,2a), and contributing two points each for the Rams were Dean Venner (2g) and Callen Mangin (2a). Collin Engler added one goal while Justin Dinsmore and Andrew Engler both had one assist.
Pennridge goalkeeper Andrew Slutsky turned away 11 of 12 shots he faced in the win. West’s Isaac Mays had 45 saves in a busy night between the pipes.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 6, WISSAHICKON 2
The Hatters found themselves locked in a 2-2 tie with the Trojans after one period but seized control of the game with a 3-0 second period on their way to the win. Joseph Magnin Jr’s hat trick led a balanced Hatter attack.
Back-to-back goals by Magnin to open the second period gave the Hatters a lead they would not lose. Reid Rochestie added a power play goal in the closing minute of the second period to give the Hatters a 5-2 lead heading into the third period on their way to the win.
Adding two-point games for the Hatters were Nathan Nemchinov (1g,1a) and Rochestie (1g,1a).
For the Trojans, Logan Dicus contributed a goal and an assist, and Gambino had a pair of assists.
Doomenic Sestito had 13 saves in goal in a winning effort for the Hatters. Wissahickon’s Fletcher Lynch kept the Trojans within striking distance with a 47-save effort in goal in a contest that saw the Hatters hold a 53-15 advantage in shots.

WISSAHICKON 2, ABINGTON 1 (OT)
Defense was the name of the game when Wissahickon and Abington did battle at Hatfield Ice. With the score deadlocked at 1-1 and just 47 seconds remaining in overtime, Joseph Gambino IV scored to give the Trojans the dramatic win.
Neither team scored in the opening period, and in the second, Abington’s Kayley Lang (Joseph Widmeier) scored the only goal.
Mack Risnychok’s shorthanded goal with a Logan Dicus assist evened the score with 8:32 remaining in regulation.
Wissahickon’s Fletcher Lynn turned away 20 of 21 shots he faced between the pipes to earn the win in goal. Abington’s Matthew Evangelist kept the Ghosts in it with 29 saves on 31 shots.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 5, PENNSBURY 3
With the potential of overtime looming, South’s Dominic Gibson turned a pass from Ryan Frey into the go-ahead goal with 2:08 remaining in regulation. Ryan Montagna added an empty net goal with 19 seconds remaining, giving the Titans a hard-fought 5-3 win over the Falcons at Grundy.
Earlier, South’s John Lord scored the only goal of the opening period, and the Titans led 2-0 after a goal by Jamison Crouch early in the second.
Back-to-back goals by Jacob Sarver (power play) and Chase Kinley evened the score. An unassisted goal by Joshua Iyahen-Lucchesi sent the Titans into the third period with a 3-2 lead.
Pennsbury’s Shane Gleisner scored the equalizer early in the third, setting the stage for the Titans’ late-game heroics.
South’s Nathan Napolitano recorded 29 saves to earn the win in goal. Pennsbury’s Brendan Miliken’s 53 saves negated the Titans lopsided advantage in shots.

The Patriots – thanks to the 55-save effort in goal of Cameron Young between the pipes – were able to hang tough with the defending state champion Knights, but in the end, the Knights took a 3-1 first-quarter lead and rode that to the final horn.
North Penn took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Luke Haftel (Landon Hostetter assist). The Patriots evened the score on a goal by Ethan Cenci (Evan Asimakopoulos/Cole Kleindienst assists). Back-to-back goals by Derek Lugara and Nolan Shingle (shorthanded) gave the Knights a 3-1 lead after one period – a score that stood the rest of the way.
The Knights held a 34-5 advantage in shots over the second and third periods but could not cash in with a goal.
North Penn’s Aidan Quigley turned away nine of 10 shots he faced in a winning effort in goal.

The Colonials erupted for five goals in the third quarter, breaking a 2-2 tie on their way to the big win. They were led by the four-point games of Blake Ambler (2g, 2a) and Daniel Guller (1g, 3a).
The Spartans took a 3-2 lead after Gavin McManus (Kellen Warman assist) scored with 9:34 remaining in regulation, but that would be their last hurrah. Three minutes later, Ryan Jagher (Guller assist) scored the equalizer, and less than a minute later Guller scored the go-ahead goal, using assists from Dan Molony and Brandon Wooldridge. That goal stood as the game-winner for the Colonials, who added three more goals for the 7-3 final.
Adding two-point games for the Colonials were Luke Smith (1g, 1a), Wooldridge (2a), Cooper Kanze (1g,1a) and Jagher (1g,1a).
For the Spartans, Kellen Warman had a pair of assists.
Max Yoder saved 25 of 28 shots to earn the win in goal for PW.

Jake Weiner scored the only goal of the opening period, using assists from Braydon Hanratty and Allen Pronin. That goal stood as the game-winner.
The Golden Hawks erupted for nine goals in the second period for the 10-0 lead and mercy rule win.
Eleven Rock South players contributed to the scoring. Weiner’s six-point game (5g,1a) led the Hawks. Adding two-point games to the balanced attack were Aidan Judge (1g,1a), Jordan Sarne (2g), Keagan Spence (1g,1a) and Jacob Cohen (2a).
Trey Prozzillo earned the shutout win in goal, turning away all 10 shots he faced. West’s Isaac Mays was credited with 45 saves.
