William Tennent Comments
I am proud of the way the girls played. We faced a very strong Council Rock team that has speed on the outside. We asked a lot of our young defenders to try and contain the speed and overall I feel they did the best they could. Credit to freshman lily Defortuna sophmore Abi Schlippert and junior Mia Rahn on solid defensive play. Also credit Alena Beer who had a strong game between outside mid and defensive mid. Looking foward to getting back to division play on Tuesday.
We were a little disjointed early but were able to grow into the game and our first goal was a long range shot from Addison Martin, her left is really dangerous from that distance, and this one found the bottom corner. Soon after that Annie Mills scored her first Varsity goal on a 25 yard shot after a corner was cleared.
In the second half we emphasized a few things , and our 3rd goal was a great build up from Audrey Rogan to Sarina Igval and then a great finish from Keagan Terry. Keagan scored again with 15mins left after some good build up play.
Reese Ludwig and Sophia Mills combined for the shutout and overall we had the opportunity to get a lot of minutes across the board today, but I thought Brynn Rodgers, Sophia Milich and Annie Mills did a really good job with their time.
