Leah Vorgity goal, assisted by Kylie Blank at 9:12 remaining in the 2nd quarter

The Bensalem Owls flew into William Tennant for Tennant's senior night and walked away with a hard-fought 1-0 victory. The Owls had a disallowed goal at the end of the first quarter by Keana Rodriguez and couldn't get their offense turned up again until 9:12 left in the second when Freshman Leah Vorgity finished one in front with a great pass from sophomore Kylie Blank. All of our forwards were buzzing tonight but they just weren't able to finish. Seniors Abby Kazimer, Keana Rodriguez and Chloe Masciantonio were all around the net tonight with opportunities. They put a lot of pressure on the Tennant goalkeeper. That score stood up throughout the rest of the game. Tennant came up with a few chances toward the end of the game but our defense and goalkeeper Hailey Fricke kept them shutout. Tennant earned 3 important corners in the fourth but were unable to get one past her.
Freshman Leah Vorgity has had herself a week, scoring her first two goals in high school in the last two games.
The midfield of Paige Dando, Anjali Guda, Tierney Sayers, Peyton DeCarlo, Reese Sayers, and junior Veronica Lennon were solid tonight. They were connecting on passes and really pressuring the Tennant midfield. They put so many good balls up to the forwards tonight. The defense, too, was productive, challenging the Tennant forwards and keeping the ball to the outside. Lucciana Krecko probably had her best game of the year; Makayla Duncan, Reagan Colgan, and Lexi Hartman competed all night. Sophomore standout Abby Cheung continued her calm, composed play in her first year as a varsity starter.
A Tennant shoutout to senior Cailyn George, who has been a staple for William Tennant for the past few years. She had an awesome game tonight and I wish her much success in her future.
