SOL National Conference
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 0 (25-18, 27-25, 25-22)
The Golden Hawks notched their eighth win without a loss, but the Indians made them earn it.
“(There was) great defensive play on both sides of the net,” Rock South coach Kelly Korn said. “CR South continued the never-give-up attitude, finding themselves down 11-2 at one point in set three and battling back for the win.”
Olivia DeSaro ended the night with 22 kills, 12 digs and 1 block. Middle Toren Kotter had 5 kills and 5 blocks, and middle Kristina Shumakov added 3 kills and 2 blocks.
Setter Emelie Korn dished out 32 assists and added 2 blocks and 6 digs defensively.
“Libero Chloe Brossman played fantastic defense, digging up 18 balls,” Korns said. “Soleil Kauer dug up seven and served 3 aces amid aggressive service runs.”
Up next: Council Rock South (8-0, 6-0 SOL) will travel to WC Rustin for a non-league game Friday, and Council Rock North will host Central Bucks East in a non-league game Friday.
SOL Continental Conference
PENNRIDGE 3, SOUDERTON 1 (25-18, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23)
The Lady Rams got the payback they were looking for Thursday night, defeating rival Souderton 3–1 in front of an energized crowd. After falling to Souderton earlier in the season, Pennridge delivered a statement win powered by sharp defense and a balanced offensive attack.
Libero Sloane Gochin anchored the back row with a standout performance, collecting 24 digs and firing in 3 aces. On the outside, Chloe Wint was unstoppable, finishing with 16 kills, 1 block, and 8 digs, while right side Maggie Dekutoski added 6 kills, a block, 4 digs, and an ace.
The Rams also got a big lift from their underclassmen, as the freshman duo of Luci Lillo and Emma Hill combined for 7 kills and 8 digs. In the middle, Arianne Lauf and Shea Lightcap provided power at the net with a combined 13 kills and 2 blocks. Setter Aubrie Schulz orchestrated it all with 33 assists, while also contributing 18 digs and 3 kills in a gritty all-around effort.
With the rivalry win, Pennridge adds another key victory to its record and continues to build momentum heading into the second half of the season.
For the Indians, Zoe Folk led the defense with 16 digs and also had three aces, one kill and one assist. Ava Woodbury, Stella Powers and Kylie O’Keefe led the attack with 10 kills each. Woodbury also had 14 digs while Powers had 12 digs and one block, and O’Keefe added three aces, one block and two digs. Setter Caroline Bache handed out 36 assists and also had nine digs and three aces.
Up next: Pennridge will host Mount Saint Joseph in a non-league match Saturday (11am), and Souderton will host Harriton in a non-league match Friday.
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1 (22-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-20)
Kya Lynch continued her dominance at the net, delivering 19 kills. Defensively, Ashlyn Kear led the way with 18 digs. Emma Shank (17 assists, 2 aces, 2 digs) and Erinn McCusker (11 assists, 5 kills, 9 digs) combined for 28 assists.

SOL American Conference
PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, ABINGTON 0
PW completes the home and away sweep of Abington in regular season winning 3-0 today to improve to 8-1 on the yr.
PW had a balanced attack between four different hitters. The team also served at 93 percent with 10 aces and passed on serve receive at 2.38 out of 3. Three players had a great match for the Colonials, seniors Marissa Storti (17 kills) and Giules Storti (23 digs & 4 aces) as well as Eliza Meersman (9 kills, 4 aces).
Up next: The Colonials are off until their Senior Night next Thursday as they host New Hope Solebury, and Abington will host Springfield Twp on Thursday.
Wednesday, Sept. 17
NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 3, ABINGTON 1
After dropping the first set, the Lions won three straight to win the match.
“Abington came out with high energy and skill taking set one,” said Abington coach Marlene Jackson. “Both teams had the packed gym on their feet with every serve, kill and block.
