Cheltenham earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Plymouth Whitemarsh on the back of a strong defensive effort and a decisive first-half strike.

The winning goal came in the 15th minute when a cross from the right clipped the crossbar and fell to Billy Fishman, who headed it home. From there, Cheltenham’s back line of Ean Justice, Emile Chanoine, Alan Fazio, and Dylan Miller kept goalkeeper Wolf Brown largely untroubled in the first half.

In the second half, Fishman continued to cause problems for the Colonials’ defense with multiple chances, while Plymouth Whitemarsh pushed forward but found Brown in top form with several key saves. Midfielders Aldin Sabljic and Ruben Villatoro worked tirelessly, Jackson Lewis impressed in his return from an ankle injury, and Harry Rubin Reynolds also contributed before being subbed out.

Despite some late injuries, Cheltenham’s defense held firm to close out the shutout win.
