SOL National Conference
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, NESHAMINY 2 (25-27, 23-25, 26-24, 28-26, 15-13)
For the seventh consecutive time, the conference rivals battled for more than two hours and played five sets, this time, making it even closer, separated by two points. The teams battled back and forth. During the fourth set, CRN was down 12-19 and sophomore Ellie Lapinski and senior Olivia Szymkiewicz took turns taking some big swings, combining for 15 kills to lead the comeback. Once again CRN found themselves in a hole at 6-10 in the fifth set when the duo combined for seven kills to lead the comeback.
Szymkiewicz led Rock North with 32 Kills and four aces; Lapinski added 16 kills and 8 aces, and senior Marcela Roszko added 4 kills and 2 aces. Sophomore setter led the offense with 50 assists, 2 kills, and 2 aces.
“We found ourselves down in most of the sets,” Rock North coach Joe Schweitzer said. “Regardless of the score, the team kept fighting back. It is a good sign for things to come.”
Up next: Council Rock North will host William Tennent next Tuesday, and Neshaminy will travel to Quakertown Wednesday.
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, PENNSBURY 2 (17-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 16-14)
The Golden Hawks dropped the first two sets of Tuesday’s match but settled in and rallied to win the next three, eking out two-point wins in the fourth and fifth sets.
“Pennsbury’s formidable offense and pace took us by surprise as the match began,” Rock South coach Kelly Korn said. “The team rallied and didn’t get rattled, they steadily worked together to earn every point.”
The connection between junior setter Emelie Korn and outside hitter senior Olivia DeSaro was seamless, resulting in 25 kills for DeSaro. Korn put up 31 total assists, 2 aces and 13 digs. DeSaro rounded out her night with 3 aces and 18 digs., Junior libero Chloe Brossman dug up 24 balls, leading the defensive charge. Junior Soleil Kauer dug up 14, served 5 aces and contributed a pair of kills. Toren Kotter lent 6 blocks, 3 kills and a pair of aces to the win. Junior Riley Witmer steadily assisted on blocks and blocks touches with 2 solo blocks and kills to round out the match.
“It was a total effort on and off the court of support, cheers, communication and positive energy,” Korn said.
Up next: Council Rock South (5-0, 4-0 SOL) will host Bensalem Thursday, and Pennsbury (4-2, 3-1) will be on the road at William Tennent Thursday.
SOL Continental Conference
PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 1
The Lady Rams shook off a sluggish start Tuesday night to defeat Central Bucks East, 3–1, on their home court. After dropping the first set 23-25, Pennridge quickly found its rhythm and swept the next three to close out the match in convincing fashion.
Setter Aubrie Schulz fueled the comeback with 23 assists, 19 digs, 3 kills, and 2 aces, keeping both the offense and defense steady. On the outside, Chloe Wint sparked the attack with 15 kills, 8 digs, and an ace, while Maggie Dekutoski added balance with 9 kills, 10 digs, and an ace.
The Rams’ defense anchored the turnaround, combining for 54 digs, while the offense piled up 34 kills and the service line contributed 9 aces.
The Lady Patriots put together their most complete match of the season but ultimately came up just short. The front row was patrolled by Alli Minacci (10 kills, 3 blocks, .400 hitting percentage) and Summer Darling (8 kills, 3 service aces, 1 block, .250 hitting percentage). Carmyn O'Brien turned in a strong overall performance (17 digs, 5 kills, 3 service aces). The defense was anchored by Abi Zmuda (21 digs) and Liberty Frith (16 digs). Brynne Vonder Schmalz (18 assists) and Sadie Jones (9 assists) co-directed the offense.
Up next: With the win, Pennridge improves its home record and carries momentum into Thursday night’s road matchup against Quakertown. Central Bucks East will host Central Bucks South Thursday.
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (25-22, 2-523, 25-22)
The Bucks – led by the glittering 21-kill effort of Kya Lynch – earned a sweep of the visiting Panthers.

For a team plagued with injuries throughout the squad, the Cheltenham lads started this game matching whatever New Hope threw at them. The first 20 minutes were evenly contested with both teams withstanding the other team’s attacks.
The breakthrough came with around 20 minutes to play iin the opening half when a perfectly weighted through ball of about 70 yards was delivered up the field from Ean Justice to Billy Fishman, who was in stride to run onto the pass, carry the ball inside the box before slotting it calmly into the bottom left corner of the net, leaving the keeper with no chance of saving it. The home crowd supporters erupted into a deafening cheer, while the players celebrated the goal amongst themselves,
“The remaining 20 minutes were a little more tense, but the Cheltenham lads held the 1-0 lead going in at halftime. The second half started much the same as the first half ended, as New Hope was applying some pressure on Cheltenham.

--Props: “Wolf Brown came up huge on many of the crosses and shots that came his way. The Cheltenham defense gave everything they had to keep their opposition at bay.
“A special and emphatic mention needs to go out the Cheltenham central defending duo, Ean Justice and Emile Chanoine, who both had fantastic games. Both of these stalwarts had their part to play in clearing dangerous aerial balls, along with cutting out the dangerous runs in behind the defense, along with supporting the outside backs.
“Alan Fazio played well on the left side of defense, bringing balls up from the back to support the midfield and forwards. Dylan Miller, on the right back position, improved as the second half continued, gaining more confidence with runs up the right side of the field supplying the forwards and midfielders with accurate passing.
“Special mention also needs to be given to our midfield of Jayden Sumitra, Aldin Sabljic, Ruben Villatoro and Harry Ruben-Reynolds. These four midfielders covered so much ground, supporting both defense and offense, overcoming fatigue, for the sake of the team.
“Jayce Howard and Billy Fishman ran New Hope's defense into the ground. Billy scored the only goal of the game and Jayce was unlucky on a couple of occasions, coming close with shots. Overall, this was one the best games that every player had a part to play in and did, securing a 1-0 win.”

NORTH PENN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1 (25-16, 24-26, 27-25,
The North Penn Knights secured another win, this time over the Central Bucks South Titans, bringing their record to 7-0. CB South gave the Knights their best match since match one against Lansdale Catholic.
The first set started as a back-and-forth affair with CB South serving tough against the Knights' receive. South took a first-half lead at 11-7 over North Penn, and the Knights battled back to even the match at 13-13. The Titans pulled away to 15-13 over North Penn. With a side out, sophomore outside hitter Holland Van Ooyen stepped to the serving line at 14-15 and never looked back. With three aces, Holland held serve to 24-16 after missing the potential winner. She also led the Knights with five kills, followed by senior outside hitter Madlen Potrusilova and junior middle hitter Maya Mukulski, both with three kills in set one. North Penn topped CB South 25-16.
North Penn started set two with a strong 5-0 lead on the serving of senior captain setter Belle Mukulksi. CB South clawed its way back to tie the set at eleven. South briefly pulled away at 15-13, but the Knights tied the match at 15. After trading a few side outs, North Penn took a commanding lead at 21-19 and again at 23-20. South kept fighting, but North Penn took a 24-22 lead with the serve. The Titans tied the match at twenty-four and, with momentum on their side, won 26-24. Senior captain Madlen Potrusilova led the Knights with seven kills, while juniors Maya Mukulski and Sofie Potrusilova each contributed three kills.
Set three was another quick start for the Knights, building an early 4-1 lead. CB South closed the early lead at five. Both teams traded points until South built an 18-15 lead. The Knights stormed back, and the score was tied at 22. North Penn pulled away, taking the lead 24-22 with the serve. After a missed serve, South scored two quick points, bringing the set to twenty-four. The tight game battled to a 25 tie, and North Penn finished the set at 27-25.
The final set of the match was another early battle with the Knights taking a quick lead, 4-1. Both teams traded points until sophomore outside hitter Holland Van Ooyen stepped to the serving line at 12-11. The Knights extend their lead to 18-12, taking control of the set. Junior captain Maya Mukulski had the highlight of the set with a hammer hit on an opportunistic second ball. CB South closed the lead to four at 20-16, but the Knights closed the door on CB South 25-19. Senior captain setter Belle Mukulski led the set with four kills.
The Knights gritted out a tough match against the Titans 3-1. The Titans challenged the Knights' serve receive throughout the entire game, but the offense proved too much for CB South. The Knights, with their 7-0 undefeated streak, are getting their opponents' best efforts. They take on Souderton at home on Thursday - also North Penn's Community Night!
Up next: North Penn will host Souderton on Thursday, and Central Bucks South will be on the road at Central Bucks East Thursday.
SOL American Conference
PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, HATBORO-HORSHAM 0 (25-20, 25-4, 25-18)
PW extended its record to 6-0 on the season with a sweep of the visiting Hatters of Hatboro. The first set was tight with both teams making plays (25-20) before PW pulled away in the second set (25-4) and finished the match in three sets (25-18).
Junior Ryleigh Gunn led the effort with 7 kills and 3 blocks, senior Marissa Storti had 5 kills, 6 digs and 8 aces, junior Bailey Riley 4 kills, 2 blocks and 4 aces, junior Eliza Meersman had 4 kills on 4 attempts, 4 digs and 2 aces, junior Brooke Peduzzi had 6 kills, 3 digs, 2 aces and 4 assists, and senior Ella Walker finished with 7 assists.
Up next: PW will host the reigning division champs, Upper Dublin on Thursday. Hatboro-Horsham will host Abington Thursday.
