Reasons for selecting DeSales: “Great school and great coaching staff.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level? “I always wanted to play at the next level from a young age. I started playing when I was five and never stopped. My recruiting process started when I played for the Bux-Mont Carpenter Cup team last summer.”
Wissahickon coach Andy Noga: “Josh Stonesifer has been a four-year varsity baseball player and a true example of what a student-athlete in our program should look like. Throughout his time
at Wiss, Josh consistently looked for ways to improve in every aspect of life and baseball. He has always been eager to learn from those around him and apply that knowledge both in the classroom and on the diamond.
“In the weight room, Josh made significant gains each year by staying committed to the long-term process of becoming bigger, stronger, and faster. His dedication and consistency helped shape him into the player he is today.
“On the field, Josh is simply a natural. He earned a varsity spot as a freshman and worked his way into the starting lineup by the end of the season. As a sophomore, he took over as the team’s starting catcher, earned Honorable Mention All-League honors, and never looked back. His hard work continued into his junior year, where his play elevated even further and earned him First Team All-League Catcher honors.
“Now, in his senior season, Josh served as a team captain and the clear leader of our group. He has helped lead this team into a position to host a home playoff game, and more importantly, he has helped set the standard for future players in the program through the way he carries himself every single day.
“As a coaching staff, we are extremely proud of Josh and everything he has accomplished. We are excited to continue following his baseball journey at the next level.”
