Reasons for choosing Keystone: “It made the most sense for me. When I visited, it was smaller than I expected, but I understood that it would be easier to adjust. They have my major, which is the most important to me, and it isn’t too far from home.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “I’ve played soccer my whole life and it has always been the goal to play at the collegiate level. I
started thinking about it since I was a little kid watching college teams play on TV. I played in a tournament, and Coach (Brian) Taylor at Keystone messaged my club coach, Paul Reilly. He told me they were interested and it all went on from there.
“For golf, I started playing the summer of my freshman year. I never thought it would be a possibility to be able to play in college, but the opportunity presented itself when Keystone decided to bring golf back to the college. With soccer still being the main priority, I will also be playing golf at Keystone College.”
Wissahickon soccer coach Stuart Malcolm: Charlie Fortescue was a captain and a four-year varsity player for Wissahickon High School boys’ soccer. Charlie is passionate about the sport of soccer and showed relentless hustle both on and off the ball in every game he played. We wish Charlie both academic and athletic success at Keystone College.”
