Springfield Twp coach Chris Shelly: “I’m so happy they’re playing in college because they weren’t your prototypical stars as seniors. They just did everything we asked them to do over the four years, and they just love playing football. I’m excited for them. I think their best football is yet to come. Both of them were first-year starters as seniors, and both kind of had the same story.
“Logan Curcio is a wide receiver/defensive back. We played him a little bit as a junior, but he got hurt. Then he came back this year and really had a nice year playing corner, a little bit of safety – anything we needed him to do, he did in the defensive backfield. He had a really big interception at the William Tennent game to seal the game for us. He came over and head butted me with his helmet. The kids were laughing because he bloodied my lip after that interception. It was a fun story, and I’ll be telling it for years. I was just so happy for him. He’s always been super quiet, but the kids love him. He’s one of those seniors everybody roots for, so him having that big interception -he’s a fun kid who loves football.
“Logan White is kind of like a hybrid outside linebacker that we moved around as well. They’re both similar body types, and I think they’re both going to play in the defensive backfield in college. Logan had a blocked punt against Lower Moreland early in the season, and he took it back to the house. Again, you can’t root for two better kids. We asked those guys to take that big step up as seniors, and they really did all the little thing for us. They practice hard, and they’re just good, good kids. I loved coaching them.”
