“This group of seniors have been a super instrumental group to building the team culture we’ve built over the past five years,” Souderton coach Dan Fleck said. “They love the sport, they’re very supportive and they push each other as well as their younger teammates. They’re very eager to help and teach the younger girls, making sure that they’re not falling behind and also being kind and supportive as they grow. I’m super proud of this group of girls. It’s been an honor to coach them, and I can’t wait to see what they do at the next level.”
Carol Ann Descher – Iona University (Water Polo)

Reasons for choosing Iona: “The reasons I chose Iona was because of the coaches and the team.”
Favorite Souderton sports memory: “My favorite memory was beating North Penn and getting
second place at Beast of the East.”
Coach Dan Fleck: “Carol Ann Descher is going to Iona University. She has grown tremendously as a person in the water and out of the water. She’s one of the most passionate players I’ve ever coached, and her growth has been incredible to watch. She’s very supportive and drives the team to be the best they can be.”

of water polo and also the water polo coach.”
Favorite Souderton sports memory: “My favorite memory was all the Beast of the East Tournaments, especially this year when we finished second.”
Coach Dan Fleck: “Maddie Healy is one of the strongest lefties we’ve had in the program in recent years. She’s another very strong and supportive leader. She’s passionate and supportive of her teammates and has grown tremendously as a person inside and outside the pool as a leader.”

She’s another one that’s put a ton of time in over the past two to three years in the offseason, playing club and getting extra workouts in. Her growth has been incredible to watch. She’s a kind and quiet leader – she leads by example, and she’s very supportive. It’s been incredibly fun to watch her grow and succeed.”

Coach Dan Fleck: “Stella Heim, Claudia Heim’s twin sister, is another one who’s put a ton of time in the offseason. She’s worked her butt off to really find her spot in the pool. The past two years – her junior and senior year – she’s created a lot of success for herself by putting in the effort, doing the things that aren’t always the highlight of the game, but she’s dedicated to making sure things are done right on defense. This year she’s really made an impact on both sides of the pool, so offensively and defensively, she’s hustling and she works hard.”
