Anna Greenday – Saint Vincent College (Soccer)
Major: Business Administration
Reasons for choosing Saint Vincent: “Saint Vincent is a beautiful campus with so many opportunities. The school had such an inclusive environment with dedicated and driven students, coaches and teachers. Lots of students are athletes, therefore, creating a bonded community. The women’s soccer team encourages a perfect balance of school and sports – fulfilling my ultimate desire in the college experience.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “I have always wanted to play soccer in college because of the great love I have for the sport. I began my recruiting process in eighth grade, which gave me plenty of time to decide what I liked and disliked about different environments. I went to ID Clinics with many schools and attended showcase tournaments with my club team. Coach (Bryan) Butler reached out to me after one of my club showcase tournaments, and I fell in love with the school and team after only one visit. I found that this team brought the perfect balance of school and soccer, which is exactly what I was looking for.”
Quakertown soccer coach Jon Gingrich: “Anna is going to continue her soccer career at Saint Vincent College, a well-earned and exciting achievement. Anna has been a fixture in our program as a four-year starter, bringing consistency, toughness and determination every time she stepped onto the field. Her talent has been recognized with first team all-league honors and an honorable mention, but her true value goes far beyond awards.
“As senior captain, Anna was a steady and dependable leader, a player her teammates trusted and looked up to. She’s been a mentor, a competitor and someone who has always pushed those around her to be better.
“There’s one moment that really defines Anna. In a crucial game, she took a selfless stand that resulted in a red card, but that play ultimately helped secure her team a spot in the district playoffs. It wasn’t about recognition - it was about doing whatever it took for her team. That moment showed her heart, her awareness and her unwavering commitment.
“Off the field, Anna is a member of the National Honor Society, reflecting the strong work ethic and dedication in the classroom. What separates Anna is her mindset. She approached soccer, her coaches and life with great humility and genuine appreciation for the game. She’s coachable, driven and always carries herself with quiet confidence and respect. Faith has been an integral part of the program for the past four years as a dedicated and determined starter. What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “I became serious about playing soccer in college when I entered high school, and I began taking the recruitment process seriously and attending camps and ID clinics the summer going into my freshman year. I started with general ID clinics where many schools attended and looked at players. As I progressed and started narrowing down the schools/major I wanted, I attended their specific ID clinics in order for the coaches to get a closer look at me while also taking a closer look at the school.”
