Marsalis Kimber – Lycoming University (Football)
Final list of colleges: Lycoming, Muhlenberg, Lincoln University, Saint Anslem, Widener, Misericordia
Reasons for choosing Lycoming: “I ultimately chose Lycoming because I felt it was the best option. I visited, and it was great. It felt like home. I had a great connection with the coaches
and students.”
North Penn coach Dick Beck: “Kimber was not very good very early in his career, but he worked his tail off going into his senior year and probably lost 40 or 50 pounds. He played D tackle for us and just did a great job last year. You never know when you are going to make the most important play of the game. We lost to Neshaminy earlier in the year, and we played Neshaminy again in the district semifinals. It was one of our biggest wins, and the first play, their quarterback runs a QB counter keeper, and Kimber does a great job beating the block and tackles him for a one-yard gain. When we were watching film, I said. ‘That was the play of the game’ because if (Kimber) doesn’t beat his block and doesn’t make that tackle, the kid runs and maybe he runs for a touchdown. It was unbelievable.
“Throughout the playoffs – when he finally got coached up and learned how to play D tackle where he’s crossing guys’ spaces and getting up field, he really did an outstanding job for us, especially in the playoffs. I was really proud of him because early on he really struggled as a sophomore and junior, and he came on and had an outstanding senior year.”
Cameron Mainor – Alvernia University (Football)
Final list of colleges: Alvernia, Eastern, Delaware State
Reasons for choosing Alvernia: “I chose Alvernia because I had a good connection with the coaches. I felt it they would be the best coaching
staff for me, and it would be the best opportunity for me to level up in football and become better and develop. It seemed like they wanted me, and the school had a good vibe.”
North Penn coach Dick Beck: “Cam was a third down back for us. He caught the ball out of the backfield and was a blocker for us. He was a little unfortunate with our team because when you have guys like Matt Pownall and Rylei Gray - he was the third guy behind them, but in passing situations, he came in and did an excellent job for us out of the backfield. He was great in the screen game and caught a couple of touchdown passes on long screen runs. He also was a very good blocker for us in pass protection.
Dominic Tranzilli – Shippensburg University (Football)
Final list of colleges: Shippensburg, Muhlenberg, Ursinus, Widener, Penn State
Reasons for choosing Shippensburg: “The reason I chose Shippensburg is because when I went
up for my visit – it just clicked for me, and it felt like home. I really liked the coaching staff - they made me feel welcome, and I had a great connection with the guys I talked to. I was really excited to get up there and start playing.”
North Penn coach Dick Beck: “From day one, Tranzilli was a starter for us. Sophomore year, he started at tight end. His junior year he started to get bigger. He started at tackle and played some defense. Last year, he was the leader of our offensive line, which basically, I thought, did a great job of carrying us through the playoffs. The offense was dominant in games, running the ball with a lot of consistency.
“Dom’s one of the hardest workers, if not the hardest worker we’ve ever had, and he has an outstanding attitude. He’s one of those guys that doesn’t talk that much. He’ll encourage his teammates, but he’s not a talker. He just busts his butt. He’s the guy that every single play he’s back side, and we’re running away from him, and he’s running 20 yards down field as fast as he can and then going back to the huddle. He’s amazing.
“He’s from a really good family – his brother Frank was a captain for us. These guys are North Penn Knight royalty. He’s a great kid, fantastic kid, and I think he’s going to do great at Shippensburg.”
