CB South's McLaughlin to Play Volleyball at Eastern

On Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, Central Bucks South senior Lane McLaughlin was recognized for committing to continue her volleyball career at Eastern University.

Lane McLaughlin – Eastern University (Volleyball)

Major: Early Childhood Education

Final list of colleges: Eastern, Kutztown, West Chester

Reasons for choosing Eastern: “First, it’s a faith-based school, and I liked a lot about that. It’s also small and close to home, which I liked.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in volleyball at the collegiate level? “I’ve been an athlete all my life. I actually played softball for a really long time, so college sports were always a big thing I wanted to do, and I just really like the competitive atmosphere it provides. I really couldn’t see myself stopping after high school. I wanted to continue it from there.”

Central Bucks South coach Kurt Godfrey: “Lane is a three-year varsity player. She was a captain this year. I coached her for 18U for club as well. What stands out the most about Lane is just her passion for the game and her work ethic. Like most kids – they’re pulled in 28 different directions with schoolwork, friends, a social life, a job. Lane is one of those kids that is extremely dedicated to volleyball. She actually quit softball to dedicate the time and energy and the effort to volleyball. She was a pretty good softball pitcher, and I know she was getting looks for college softball. Before her junior year, she sat down with her dad, who was her softball coach at CB South, and made the decision on her own to pick volleyball.
“She is a middle, and she started three years. It was really nice for her and (2025 South grad) Carly Scott ) to be together as much as they were. They played club together in 17s and then 18s. Just two unbelievable kids and two unbelievable families.”
