Aidan Mayfield – Lehigh University (Football)

Major: Business

Reasons for choosing Lehigh: “From the start, I always knew it was Lehigh. When I went up there, all the coaches were great, the players were great, and it just felt like somewhere I wanted to be, and that’s why I made my decision.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level? “Ever since I was little, I would always see the big people on TV playing football in the NFL and in college, and I just knew I wanted to be there. I just kept working and working and working, and it finally paid off.”

Bensalem football coach Alex Houston:  “Aidan leaves as our all-time leading rusher and with a Division 1 scholarship to a great academic and athletic institution. He really did some great things in our program, and so we’re just thrilled and wish him nothing but the best.
“He doesn’t do a whole lot of talking, not too much of a rah-rah guy, but you can see how serious he is as a person by the way he handles his business in the classroom, the hallways and on the football field, and now he’s playing basketball. He’s a program changer.
“He’s going to do well at Lehigh. It’s a little tough for me being a Colgate guy. He’s in my league, so when they play each other, I’ve got to vote for my guy. I’ve never been used to rooting for Lehigh, but I definitely will.”

Former Bensalem basketball coach Ron Morris: "Aidan is what we want our OWLS to be. He is a great kid and a great student that walks through the hallways everyday. That transcends onto the football field and basketball court as well. He is a quiet leader who is a true game changer. He has stamped his legacy on the football field as the all-time leading rusher. On the basketball court, he was a key contributor on our SOL Patriot Division championship teams the last two years. As his coach, it is great to see how he has continued to grow as a person, student and athlete. I am very proud of Aidan and who he is. The future is bright for him and he has showed the blue print for future OWLS."
