SUBURBAN ONE LEAGUE WRESTLERS ROCK AT SOUTHEAST REGIONAL
2026 PIAA AAA SE REGIONAL INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP

Oxford, PA-Oxford Area High School was rocking all weekend with some of Pennsylvania’s best wrestlers displaying their talent and grit. All in all, 30 SOL grapplers advanced to this coming weekend’s 2026 PIAA AAA Individual Wrestling Championships in Hershey, PA. The Giant Center will also be rocking starting Thursday March 5, 2026, with AAA Boys action kicking off at 4:30pm. This 3-day, grueling tournament wraps up on Saturday March 7, 2026, with Consolation Finals for 3rd, 5th and 7th at 11:30am followed by the Championship Finals at 4:00pm. AA/AAA/Girls’ championship finals and placement bouts will occur simultaneously.
Council Rock South won the team title as expected here, capturing its eighth SE Regional title, and going back-to-back in 2025 and 2026. The Golden Hawks advanced six wrestlers to the big dance and won the team title despite not having any individual champions. The SOL had five individual champions in total, after advancing 11 to the semifinals. The SOL accounted for nearly half (46 percent) of all the state qualifiers in the region. With five champs, the SOL led all other leagues. The Ches-Mont was a close second with four champs, followed by the PAC with two, and the Central and Del Val each had one champion.
Upper Dublin’s Dom Powell got things started off as the first SOL regional champion by winning the 114-pound title over Haverford’s Lucas McFarland 11-4. McFarland upset CR South’s John Segata in the semis with a 9-2 sudden victory in OT, but Segata rebounded with a third place finish, defeating his neighbor A.J. Kane in an overtime UTB finish 2-1, as both Council Rock wrestlers advanced to Chocolate Town, USA. Quakertown’s Cole Borzio battled back thru the consolation bracket to capture the final spot with an exciting 5-4 win over Boyertown’s Liam Vance (5-4) to give us four out of five spots available at Hershey to the SOL. The SOL had more than one weight class pull off that feat.
Hatboro-Horsham’s Dom Morrison was crowned the champ once again here to become the first H-H wrestler in history to ever to win three SE Regional titles, as he continues his quest to win a second state title in his junior season up at 121-pounds. Morrison sports a 43-2 record this season with a career record of 135-8 (136-7 unofficially). Morrison has already committed to the University of Pennsylvania. Morrison won by tech fall 16-0 (2:12) over CB South’s Alex Su in the finals for the second straight week. Morrison won the D1 North title with a 15-0 TF in 2:24. Logan Worth (CRS) will join them in Hershey with a fine 3rd place finish along with Souderton’s Ezra Swartley (5th), making it four from this weight-class as well to qualify for states.
Central Bucks East’s Chase Williams looks primed to win a second state title as well at 127-pounds after winning back-to-back titles as a sophomore. He dominated the weight-class, pinning all his opponents in Oxford with his smothering cradle, and he decked Perk Valley standout Max Tancini in the finals. Williams appears to be peaking at the right time with a 37-4 record this year and 77-6 overall, and is on pace to break the CB East all-time win record. Matthew Coffin from Pennridge finished with the bronze at 127 and will look for his first state medal as a super-frosh.
The SOL is loaded here in the lighter weights. East’s 107-pounder, Johnny Hunter, and CR South’s Quinn Bagnell, both freshmen, are on their way to Hershey placing 5th and 3rd respectively. There’s going to be some heavy hardware coming down low for the SOL when all is said and done after the Hershey experience. CB East will take three wrestlers into the Giant Center, as Coltan Jones advanced with his 5th place finish at 152.
Three other SOL teams had three state qualifiers as well, CB West (3rd place), Pennridge (6th) and Quakertown (9th) joined East (13th). H-H (16th), North Penn (17th), CR North (20th) and Souderton (26th) all had two SQ’s. Most impressive were the Bucks from Central Bucks West with three finalists and two champions, the Dennis brothers, Daniel and Chris. Kevin Mallon showed how tough the Bucks’ wrestling room is, and how good the leadership of head coach Dylan Schwartz is, reaching the finals with his drill partners. Mallon placed second at 152 after losing to a phenomenal Luke Know from Perk Valley, but his SV 7-4 victory in the semis over the #1 seed Zack Jaffe (Kennett) punched his ticket. Daniel Dennis downed Pennridge’s Quinn McBride again in the finals 1-0. McBride is closing the gap, and it looks like both are ready to rise on the podium at 145-pounds Saturday evening at the Giant Center. And big bro, Chris Dennis is just a beast at 172, winning a rugged weight class over Oxford’s Blake Hostetter 8-5 in the title tilt. Chris downed West Chester Rustin’s A.J. Corp by fall in the semis to set him apart from good and great. He will look to win a state title starting Thursday, late afternoon.
The SOL dominated another weight class at 145 in this SE Regional. Dominic Ramos (Souderton) defeated CR South’s Daniel Kornev by fall for 3rd place for the second weekend in a row. Kornev looks to be the next rising star for the Golden Hawks, and Ramos is looking to become one of Souderton’s best ever as he garnered his 100th win out in cow country, or should I say mushroom country.
In the middle, Pierce Kan (CRN) did not have his best tourney at 133-pounds but good enough to advance to Hershey. He was downed by eventual champion Brayden Sigle (Kennett) in the semis and dropped a 6-2 decision to North Penn’s Shane Young, who finished with bronze on his way to the big show.
The SOL’s only qualifier at 139 was CR South’s Pat Woloshyn who was the runner-up, losing in a grueling battle to Kennett’s Bryce Boyer in overtime (TB-1) 2-1. Boyer is the #1 ranked grappler in the state according to PA Power. Woloshyn surpassed the 150-win mark here, improving to an amazing overall record of 152-51, and will look to improve on his previous 4th place finish in Hershey last year.
Harry S Truman’s Malik Kelly got back to form at 152-pounds, advancing to Hershey with a big win over Colin Baldesari (WC Rustin) in the quarterfinals, 13-6. Kelly is the first state qualifier for Truman in a long while. He beat Coltan Jones (CBE) 5-4 in the consi-semis to stamp his ticket. Jones, however rebounded with a solid 8-2 win over Carter Stouch (Boyertown) to win the big one to advance in the fifth spot. Abington’s lone qualifier, Ryan Solomon, placed 4th at 172-pounds with a nice run to the semis in one of D1’s most touted weight classes.
North Penn’s Johnny O’Brien had a tough task at 160 versus #1 Jon Smith (Oxford) in the finals, losing 4-1, but will look for precious metal up in Chocolate Town, USA, with his runner-up finish at regionals. Quakertown’s Logan Pfistner will join O’Brien in Hershey with his 5th place finish at this weight. Fellow Panther David Clayton (189) will join Pfistner and Colin Borzio after an impressive 3rd place finish. Clayton benefited from another SOL wrestler, Carter Clee from Neshaminy. Clee upset Lower Merion’s Tamir Griffin with a fall in the quarters, but Griffin rebounded to become a SQ, the first Upper Merion grappler to get to states since their state champion Clint Collins.
The heavies from the SOL expected to advance to Hershey did. Pennridge standout Sawyer Ermigiotti did his job, finishing 3rd at 215-pounds after downing a rugged Nick Farabaugh from Strath Haven 8-2. Up top at 285-pounds, as expected, CR South’s Matt Scott was the runner-up to Owen J Roberts #1 Dean Bechtold, and H-H’s Robbie Rose took the bronze to showcase our big men. Rose got revenge on WC East’s Justin Williams winning 11-4 in the consi-final at 285. He lost a close one in the quarters 11-10, but rebounded, earning his spot in Hershey after a shaky Friday. These two could very well be up on the podium come Saturday night…
