COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 4, HATBORO-HORSHAM 3
It took a seventh inning rally for the Indians to eke out a Senior Night win, but Chelsea Seiler delivered a bases-loaded double that scored both the tying and go-ahead run for the walk-off win.
“It was a great opportunity to celebrate a special group of seniors,” Rock North coach John Engelhardt said. “Each of them brings something unique, and they all have bright futures ahead. I’m incredibly grateful for their leadership and the role they’ve played in helping lay the foundation in my first year back as head coach of the program.”
Seiler’s three-hit effort led the Indians.

Key inning: Bottom of seventh – Trailing 3-2, the Indians staged a seventh inning rally. Liv Schlindwein reached base on an error to lead off the inning, and Kayla Rapper followed with a bunt single. The bases were loaded when Zoe Hornstein beat out a bunt single. Chelsea Seiler stepped to the plate and doubled to left field, plating a pair to give the Indians the walk-off win.

“It was a competitive game throughout, and credit to our opponent for battling all the way to the final inning. We’ll take the win and are happy to come out on top, especially on Senior Recognition Day.”

LOWER MORELAND 4, CHELTENHAM 0
Maddie Menchhofer had herself a day.
The Lions’ pitcher notched the complete game win, allowing just one hit while striking out 11. Menchhofer’s inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the first plated a pair and was more than enough on this day. For good measure, Menchhofer delivered a two-out double to plate Annika Swanson and Izzy O’Brien. Both had singled earlier in the inning.

SOUDERTON 10, UPPER DUBLIN 0 (5 innings)
Emma Lewis took care of business at the plate while Katie Straub was in command in the circle.
Lewis was a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBIs while Stroup – after surviving a first-inning jam – was pretty much untouchable.
UD had a golden opportunity to take an early lead, loading the bases with none out in the top of the first. The Cardinals came up empty. It was their first and last chance to stage a rally.
Stroup dominated the rest of the way, recording 11 of 15 outs on strikeouts. She struck out six in a row to close out the abbreviated contest.
In the bottom of the first, the Indians capitalized on their opportunity, plating an unearned run. That 1-0 score stood until the bottom of the third when the Indians added a pair with Messmer’s RBI triple the big blow.
Souderton brought an early end to the game with a seven-run fourth that included doubles by Kendal Nelson (leadoff), Straub (RBI) and a triple by Ava Detwiler that plated a pair.
It was the eighth straight game the Indians have finished with double-digit runs. In that span, they have outscored opponents 87-7.

Key inning: First inning – In the top of the first, UD loaded the bases on three straight singles. Freshman Katie Stroup retired the next three batters she faced – the first two via strikeout and the third on a groundout to first base.
In the bottom of the inning, Kiera Fadden was safe on a one-out error, and with two outs, Emma Lewis lined a double to left field that plated Fadden for an early 1-0 lead.

“The girls did a great job today of staying the course against a very good pitcher in Kyla Garrison. Kyla looked very good, and it took us a bit to make adjustments.”
--Lewis sets the tone: “Emma Lewis got things going for us with a big hit off the top of the fence to score our first run. She has been putting in a lot of extra work after practice with her hitting, and it has paid off for her this year. Emma does a great job of getting her barrel in the hitting zone early, which is why she has been so successful. She definitely has a swing that will translate at the college level.”
--Straub strong: “Katie Straub was the third pitcher to win a game for us this week. I continue to be in complete amazement with her performance. Katie allowed three straight singles to start the game, which loaded the bases. She got out of the jam and went the rest of the game without giving up a hit. Katie doesn't get rattled easily and always finds a way to get the job done. The girl is a gamer!”

ABINGTON 13, SPRINGFIELD TWP 1 (5 innings)
As Senior Nights go, they don’t get much better than this. And not only because the Ghosts got a big win. The night included other festivities.
“We had a big DJ and light-up letters,” Abington coach Tina Hesdon said. “The seniors pick a theme, and we coaches decorate for that theme. This year’s theme was Y2K disco party. “Also, young girls from the club leagues in the community show up wearing their team jerseys. Our local pizza place donates pizzas. It’s literally a magical night.”
As for the game, it belonged to the Ghosts. They scored in each of the four innings in the abbreviated mercy rule contest, and after four innings led 13-1.
Grace Meehan had a big night, collecting three hits with four RBIs. Sophia Dever had an RBI double in a three-run second and a two-run triple in a six-run third inning. Paige Holden and Bella Roma also had two hits each.
Danica Santiago notched the win, allowing five hits in five shutout innings.

Key inning: Bottom of first – After Danica Santiago struck out the side in the top of the first, the Spartans put three runs on the board in the bottom of the inning. Mia Lucke and Zoe Kelly drew back-to-back walks to lead off the inning. Grace Meehan singled home the game’s first run. An error on Danica Santiago’s hard ground ball allowed a pair of runs to score, and the Ghosts led 3-0.

--Plenty of props: “Tonight was our senior night, and there was no better way to celebrate our seniors than with a win like this.
“Grace Meehan had another strong offensive performance this evening, going 3-for-3 with three runs and four RBIs. Sophia Dever also came up big, going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and four RBIs.
“Danica Santiago set the tone from the first inning, striking out three in a row to retire the side. She also helped herself out with a great hit at the plate.
“Chaselynn Spera and Raquel Quesada showed great discipline, each drawing two walks.
“Bella Roma had a strong night both offensively and defensively, going 2-for-3. She’s been battling injuries lately, so it was great to see her come back on senior night with such a solid performance.
“Paige Holden has been our team’s unsung hero for the past three years. She was our starting first baseman for two seasons and has taken on a new role at shortstop this year. She’s the type of player who can step into any position without hesitation and never questions being pushed outside of her comfort.”

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 19, QUAKERTOWN 2 (4 innings)
The Titans pounded out 18 hits in the abbreviated contest, scoring early and often.
Erin Ruddell had a big game out of the leadoff spot with three hits – including a double and home run – and four RBIs. Ruddell and Keira Im both had two-run home runs in the seven-run fourth. Im was a perfect 3-for-3. Megan Sandow had a pair of home runs – a two-run blast in a seven-run third and a three-run shot in the fourth that gave the Titans the walk-off win.
For the Panthers, who had just three hits off winning pitcher Brooke Taylor, Ava Jones hit a solo home run to lead off the fourth.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 10, BRISTOL 9
It was a special night for reasons that went well beyond the exciting softball game.
“What a tremendous night for softball and, more importantly, for a meaningful cause in our game against Bristol,” Rock South coach Scott Molle said. “Each year, Bristol hosts this special night in remembrance of Gabbie Devine, who tragically lost her life to cancer. It is an event that goes far beyond the scoreboard, bringing the softball community together to honor her memory. We are truly grateful and honored to have been invited to take part in such a powerful evening, and we extend our sincere thanks to the Bristol softball program and their coaching staff for including us.”
In the end, the game came down to a perfectly-executed safety squeeze by Margot McLean that plated Veronica Herzog – who had tripled – in the top of the seventh. The run didn’t seem all that important at the time, giving the Hawks a 10-6 lead, but it turned out to be the game-winner after Bristol plated three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Paige Brady’s four-hit effort – which included a double as well as a three-run blast in the top of the sixth - led Rock South’s 14-hit attack. Jenna Pesapane added a pair of doubles in a contest that saw the Hawks collect seven extra-base hits.

Key inning: Top of sixth – The Golden Hawks broke a 5-5 tie with a four-run burst. With one out, Molly Gabriele legged out a bunt single, and Jenna Pesapane was hit by a pitch. Ashlyn Curtier’s double to left field plated Gabriele, and then it was Paige Brady delivering the inning’s big blow – a three-run home run to left field that put the Hawks on top 9-5.

--The game: “Bristol entered the contest undefeated at 13-0 and has proven to be one of the most talented teams we have faced all season. They are a well-coached group with strong players across the board, and they certainly challenged us throughout. It was exactly the type of competitive environment that helps both teams grow, and we give them a lot of credit for pushing us.
“Our team responded with one of our most complete performances of the year. Offensively, we were locked in from top to bottom, collecting 14 hits and putting up 10 runs. Defensively, we played clean, confident softball and supported our pitching in every way possible.
“Overall, this was a true team win in every sense. Contributions came from throughout the lineup, and the energy, focus, and execution were exactly what we strive for as a program. We closed out the week playing some of our best softball of the season, and I could not be more proud of how this group has responded to challenges all year long. Our younger players continue to grow and embrace what it means to be part of South Softball, and that progress is showing on the field.
“We now turn our attention to another big matchup on Tuesday against CR North. Our goal is to build on this momentum and continue playing the brand of softball we know we are capable of.”
--Props: “Junior Paige Brady delivered a truly memorable performance and had what can only be described as a career night. She recorded two hits, including her first varsity home run—a three-run shot that provided a huge spark for our offense. She also doubled in the first inning to drive in our first run of the game. On the night, Paige totaled four RBIs and scored twice. She continues to be a consistent and reliable presence in our lineup, now recording her 10th double of the season. Paige’s work ethic and commitment to improving every aspect of her game—both offensively and defensively—are evident every time she steps on the field. We are extremely proud of her growth and the impact she is making for our team.
“Victoria Herzog also had an outstanding performance, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, including a triple, while adding an RBI and scoring a run. After recently returning from injury, Vic has wasted no time getting back into form. Her presence in the lineup provides a significant boost, especially in the lower half of the order where she helps keep pressure on opposing defenses. Her determination to work back and contribute at a high level speaks volumes about her character and commitment, and we are thrilled to have her back.
“Jenna Pesapane continued her exceptional week with another strong showing. She went 2-for-3, was hit by a pitch twice, drove in a run, and crossed the plate three times—reaching base in four of her five plate appearances. Jenna’s ability to consistently get on base played a major role in our offensive success. Defensively, she was equally impressive at third base, making several strong plays, including a highlight-reel moment to end the game. On one of the hardest-hit balls of the night, Jenna made a diving stop and followed it with a perfect throw to first to secure the final out. It was an outstanding display of athleticism and composure.
“Freshmen Ashlyn Curtier and Avery Ochs once again made their presence felt offensively, each collecting two hits on the day and continuing to hit the ball with authority. Both recorded doubles, with Ashlyn adding two RBIs and scoring twice, while Avery contributed an RBI and a run scored. Their consistency and confidence at the plate have been a major asset for us, and it’s exciting to see their continued development as young players stepping into significant roles.
“Margot McLean delivered one of the most important moments of the game in the seventh inning with a perfectly executed safety squeeze bunt that extended our lead to four runs. It was a high-pressure situation, and Margot executed it flawlessly, laying down one of the best bunts we have seen all season. That play ultimately provided the insurance we needed and stood as the game-winning RBI.”

The visiting Eagles set the tone for this one with three runs in the top of the first. The Owls answered with a run in the bottom. That 3-1 score stood until the Eagles scored five in the top of the fourth to seize control of the non-league game.
