PENNSBURY 7, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3 (8 innings)
The Falcons notched the hard-fought road win with four runs in the eighth, but this was a game that could have gone either way.
Jenna Thompson’s RBI single spotted the Falcons a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, and they upped that lead to 3-0 with two runs in the third. Bella Morales legged out an infield single and scored when Liv Czerniak lined a triple to right field and raced all the way home on a Colonial error.
PW got two of those runs back in the bottom of the inning. Emily Dobrowolski and Zoey Robinson led off the inning with back-to-back singles. With one out, Gia Bono received an intentional walk that loaded the bases. Dobrowolski scored on a fielder’s choice, and a miscue allowed a second run to score.
The Colonials evened the score in the fifth inning with a two-out rally that included a leadoff walk to Zoey Robinson, a two-out single by Anna Powel and a clutch RBI single by Liv Brodzinski.
PW threatened in the bottom of the seventh when its first two runners got on board, and the Colonials had runners on second and third with one out. A PW runner was called out for leaving the base early for the inning’s second out, and the Falcons recorded the third out on a line drive to center field.
Czerniak had a huge day at the plate for the Falcons, finishing 4-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs.

Key inning: Top of eighth – The Falcons loaded the bases after a leadoff single by Paige Fidishun, a one-out walk to Syd Kandravi and a single by Ryen Rittersbach. The go-ahead run scored on a wild pitch, and a walk to Kaelyn Crocker re-loaded the bases. With two outs, Bella Morales singled home a run and a second run scored on the play on a PW miscue. A fourth run crossed the plate when Liv Czerniak singled, and the Falcons led 7-3.
Pennsbury coach Frank McSherry:
--The game: “Coming out in that eighth inning and getting four runs – that was really big. They had a couple of opportunities. In the bottom of the seventh they got their first two runners on base, and Paige (Fidishun) pitched out of the jam, and we made a couple of nice defensive plays.”
Plymouth Whitemarsh coach Mike Perez:
--The game: “All due respect to that Pennsbury team. They are a tough team and extremely well coached. Paige did a great job moving the ball around, but I thought we did a nice job adjusting throughout. As the game progressed, we had really good pitch selection and made her throw a lot of pitches.
“Liv Czerniak was a tough out today, and Bella Morales and Jenna Thompson made every play in the outfield. We hit some balls hard into the gap that are probably extra bases versus most teams.
“We got down early but fought back and had a great chance to win it in the bottom of the seventh. We knew we had to play a near perfect game to win this one, and today Pennsbury outplayed us.”
--Props: “I want to shout out Zoey Robinson who was on base all four times (1-for-1, 3 BB), scoring two of our runs Liv Brodzinski also made adjustments and put together three good at-bats.”

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 6, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 5
The Titans won a come-from-behind thriller, plating a pair of runs in the top of the seventh and winning it on Keira Im’s two-out RBI single.
Brooke Taylor – who notched the complete game win – retired the Patriots in the bottom of the inning, and the big win was in the books.
Earlier, South scored two runs in the first and two more in the second to go on top 4-0. Key hits included Cam Lee’s RBI double in the first and – in the second - back-to-back RBI doubles by Kaylie Bonsall and Erin Ruddell.
East rallied with a single run in the fifth when Carly Franklin led off with a solo home run, and in the bottom of the sixth, the Patriots staged a gutsy two-out rally. Ashlyn Helmstetter doubled with two outs and scored on Hailey Helmstetter’s home run to left field. Sydney Hahn followed with a double, and she scored on a single by Carly Franklin. Olivia Owtscharuk singled home the go-ahead run, but the Titans had an answer in the top of the seventh.

With two outs, Jefferys scored the tying run on an infield fly, and Keira Im’s single to center plated Bonsall with the go-ahead run, giving South a 6-5 lead.

--The game: “It was a great game. We have so much respect for East. (Ashlyn) Helmstetter kept us off balance, and our bats went a little silent for a couple innings. Better late than never, starting the rally was Maddie Jefferys coming up huge in the top of the seventh with a single followed by Kaylie Bonsall with another single.”
--Props: “Brooke Taylor pitched an amazing game. She has grown into such a smart, mature player with grit. It was very challenging, but closing this game was a huge accomplishment building her confidence. Very proud of her and her teammates.”
Central Bucks East coach Steve Ryan:
--The game: “The girls fought back and did not quit. Very happy with our efforts. We are learning. Ashlyn Helmstetter did a wonderful job in relief for us. Home runs by Carly Franklin and Hailey Helmstetter got us going. We just have to keep working.”

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 18, BENSALEM 3 (5 innings)
Rock North led this one wire to wire.
The Indians took a 4-2 lead into the fourth when they erupted for seven runs and added five more in the fifth.
Chelsea Seiler had a huge day at the plate for the Indians with five hits – including a double – and three RBIs. Maddie Reinhardt added three hits and three RBIs.
Lucy Mills started and threw four innings in a winning effort in the circle, and Emily Dziekan closed it out with an inning.

With two outs, Bodick scored on a passed ball, giving the Indians a 4-0 lead.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 13, QUAKERTOWN 7
The Hatters – victims of three straight shutouts – brought a welcome end to their offensive slump in a hurry Monday, opening up a 7-0 lead after one-and-a-half innings on their way to the hard-fought win. They led 11-2 before the Panthers’ offense showed signs of life with three runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to make it an 11-7 game.
The Hatters – sparked by an RBI double by Molly Harrington – added a pair in the top of the seventh to all but seal the Panthers fate.
Isabella Karpovich threw 6.1 innings to earn the win in the circle, and Kennedy Conn recorded the game’s final two outs.
Conn, Maya Ravi, Adriana DeLeon and Isabella Karpovich combined for 12 hits, which included a triple by Ravi, a double, home run and four RBIs from Conn, three RBIs from Karpovich, and two doubles from DeLeon.
Karpovich earned the win with 6.1 innings in the circle. Conn recorded the final two outs in the seventh.
The Panthers had five extra-base hits, including home runs from Anna Bruno, Ellie Hilton and Gianna Santangelo.

It was nice to see the bats finally coming to life - I thought as a team we hit really well tonight. Hopefully, the girls can put a couple of wins up and finish the second half strong. It would be nice to go on a run and maybe we will finally start to get some breaks.”

WILLIAM TENNENT 20, CHELTENHAM 3 (5 innings)
The Panthers scored early and often on their way to the mercy rule win that was highlighted by a 12-run fifth inning. Big hits in the inning included two-run triples by Raelynn Salamon and Breanna Wood and an RBI triple by Angie Colagreco, who also had a double. Bates added an RBI double.
Colagreco led Tennent’s 15-hit attack, finishing with three hits – including a double and triple. Raelyn Salamon had a pair of hits, including a triple, and three RBIs, Olivia Strachan had two hits and three RBIs, and Emily Camuccio had three RBIs.
