Ellie Miller threw a complete game two-hit shutout, and the Redskins scored all the runs she would need in a six-run first inning.

Key inning: Bottom of the first – The Redskins set the tone for Thursday’s win with a six-run outburst in the first. Addie Pennisi drew a one-out walk and scored when Jill Rickards doubled to left field. Kendall McCafferty and Riley McCafferty drew back-to-back walks with Riley’s forcing a run home. Zahmira Coppola-Miller doubled home two runs, and after a walk to Ashley Entenman, Lily Mormello delivered an RBI single. The sixth run scored on a Truman miscue.
Neshaminy coach Sarah Martoccio:
“Our defense was the star of the show today. Ellie Miller pitched a great game, giving up just two hits with seven strikeouts. Our middle infielders, Riley McCafferty and Shannon Skeels, made some great plays that kept our momentum going and helped keep runners off the bases.”
Up next: Neshaminy will travel to Bensalem on Tuesday, and Harry S Truman will host Council Rock North Tuesday.

The day belonged to Felicia Connolly.
The North Penn senior tossed a complete game no-hitter, striking out 12 and walking three in a superb outing. Connolly recorded seven of the game’s first nine outs on strikeouts.
“She was throwing hard,” NP coach Rick Torresani said. “Her pitches were moving, her spin rate was really high. She was just what Felicia can be when she’s on, and she’s been on a lot for us.
“She’s been on for us from the very beginning down in Alabama. She threw a 1-0 shutout against a good team down there, so it’s the same type of game today. She wasn’t missing her spots. They hit a couple balls hard, but they were ground balls to the infield. They only hit two balls to the outfield, so she kept the ball in the infield, and she had 12 strikeouts. It was a Felicia type game that she can do and did it again for us.”
The Knights scored an unearned run in the first inning and added a run in the second. That was more than enough for Connolly.

Key inning: Bottom of second – The Knights, who led 1-0, added an insurance run in the bottom of the third. Alana Drummond drew a leadoff walk, and Cailin Halfpenny legged out a bunt single. Both runners moved up on Gianna Howard’s sacrifice bunt. A walk loaded the bases, and Alana Battavio’s line single to right brought home the game’s second and final run.”

--The game: “It was a good game. It was two good teams going at each other like we always do every year. Going into the game, we had scored 70 runs and gave up five. We needed this game. We had some really good games in Alabama, but then we came up – we’ve been hitting and our pitching has been good. We needed this kind of game to get back into what playoff and league play is all about.”
Souderton coach Tyler Bui:
“Our pitchers did a great job of keeping us in the game. Unfortunately for us, Felicia Connolly had everything working for her. She looked really good and made it extremely difficult for us to get comfortable at the plate. North Penn is a fun team to play, and I am grateful that we have them in our conference.
“Madi Mott and Katie Straub held North Penn to two runs.”

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 15, PENNRIDGE 7
The Titans found themselves on the short end of a 6-0 score heading into the bottom of the second inning. They had an answer, evening the score with three runs in the second and three more in the third, marking the beginning of a 15-0 CB South tear before the Lady Rams scored a single run in the seventh.
All told, the Titans pounded out 18 hits while Alexis Griffin – in 5.2 strong innings in relief - fanned 11 and allowed just two hits and one run.

Key inning: Bottom of fourth – Deadlocked at 6-6, the Titans scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a lead they would not lose. Erin Ruddell, Arianna Flores and Keira Im opened the inning with back-to-back-to-back singles that loaded the bases. Maddie Motley’s sacrifice fly to right field plated the go-ahead run, and Cam Lee’s sac fly put the Titans on top 8-6.
Central Bucks South coach Ali Theis:
“It is really nice for our pitchers to be able to pitch with the confidence our offense will be productive. We have been working hard focusing on hitting, and it's been paying off. They are playing well and bonding as a team, and I love being able to coach such a great group of athletes.”
Pennridge coach Crystalrae States:
“We jumped out with a 6-0 lead and that felt good. The girls were having great at bats and put the pressure on. Taylor, Madison and Emerysn (Lesher) led the way. We fell short on the defensive side today and gave up too much. This team continues to improve, and we will keep growing this season. CB South has a well-balanced team, and they dug in to overcome the early deficit and more.”

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 12, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 5
Sam Hooven and Taylor Sheplock both drove in three runs to lead the Bucks to a win that brought a welcome end to a four-game skid.
“It was great to get back in the win column after four tough losses against four very good teams,” West coach Mike Daher said. “Our schedule was very tough to start our season, and since we are a pretty young team, I knew winning those games early in the year would be a challenge.”
Kendall Kornuszko notched the complete game win in the circle.

Key inning: Bottom of fourth – The Bucks broke a 2-2 tie with four runs in the fourth. The inning was highlighted by a two-run double from Makala Burkholder. The Bucks also benefitted from a pair of East miscues in the inning as well as two walks.
Central Bucks West coach Mike Daher:
--A familiar face: “Today was a good game for us against our crosstown rivals CB East. East is a much-improved team with a very good first year coach in Steve Ryan. Steve was an assistant on our staff last year, and it was a very big loss for us when he took the job as East. I knew he would do well there as he is an extremely knowledgeable coach who will continue to do great things at East. He has already turned their program into a very competitive one and on top of that they are very young. I think they started six freshmen today.”
--The game: “For, us it was a good win. It was great to see Kendall Kornuszko go the distance and pick up her second win on the season. This is Kendall's first year as our number one pitcher, and I think she is going to continue to get better with each outing. She battled through some tough innings today and kept her focus and composure throughout the game.
“Sam Hooven had another outstanding game. She homered again in her first at bat today. It was her third homerun in two games. She is really swinging a hot bat right now and has become a very difficult out for our opponents. She also has shown great discipline at the plate having drawn three walks on the day. She knows the strike zone and rarely swings at a pitch that is not a strike.
“A lot of our other players chipped in some key hits as well. Evi Cherry has been struggling some at the plate but broke out today with two big hits for us and two RBIs. Taylor Sheplock went 1-for-3 with three RBIs, and our shortstop today Makala Burkholder had a good day at the plate with a hit and two RBIs. Makala at shortstop and our second baseman Addie McMackin both played well in the field combining for seven ground ball assists between them. We were very solid up the middle today, between the two of them and Jill Boyle in center field. Jill covers a lot of ground in center field and takes charge of the outfield play. She always has younger players to her right and left and really helps them a lot. She is a tremendous leader. In many ways, I feel like we have an extra coach on the field in Jill.
“Our first baseman, Marley Swain also picked up another hit for us and scored three runs. Marley is an excellent hitter who rarely has a hitless game. Hailey Worthington was our DP today and although she went hitless, she still drove in two runs and had some very solid at bats today. We were able to steal six bases and that really helped us to get our offense going. It was nice to be able to get two of our younger players Kate Pisch and Isabella Fedor on the field today as courtesy runners, and they both stole bases for us today. It was a good win for us against a well-coached East team. It was really nice picking up a win.”

Kyla Garrison had a big day in the circle and at the plate.
The senior standout had a pair of hits and RBIs, and in the circle, Garrison allowed just one hit in the complete game shutout, walking three and striking out 15. She surpassed the 700-strikeout milestone.
“She did a fantastic job of moving the ball around the strike zone and keeping hitters off-balance,” UD coach Heather Boyer said of Garrison. “Sophomore catcher Dooley Hennessey has done a great job stepping up behind the plate and is a terrific complement in the battery.”
The Cards jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first and then made it a 6-0 game with two runs in the second. Maddie Small led off the inning with a single and later scored on an RBI single by Garrison. Ava Renye, who singled, scored on a fielder’s choice by Sophia Vitella.
In the fifth, Vitella singled and later scored on a two-out RBI single by Kate Brannigan.

Key inning: Top of the first – Kyla Garrison helped her own cause with an RBI single to center, and Paige McKenna had a two-run single, and the fourth run crossed the plate on a single by Sarah O’Brien.

--The game: “Defensively, the team did a great job of getting important outs when needed and minimizing opportunities for Hatboro to score. Offensively, the bats for Upper Dublin were very consistent up and down the line-up, putting the ball in play with good situational hitting, and the girls were aggressive on the base paths. Today's game was a very strong and balanced performance both defensively and offensively.”
Up next: Upper Dublin will host Methacton in a non-league game Monday and West Chester Rustin on Tuesday. Thursday’s SOL crossover non-league game against Springfield Twp will be the team’s fourth annual Strikeout the Stigma game to support mental health awareness. Hatboro-Horsham will host Central Bucks West in a non-league crossover game Monday.

The Colonials scored early and often, and in the circle, Liv Brodzinski and Ava McEvoy combined for a three-hit shutout in the abbreviated contest.
Maddie Swift and Lori Flannery led PW’s offensive charge with three hits each. Gia Bono had a pair of hits, including a solo home run to lead off the third inning. Zoe Robinson also had a pair of hits and two RBIs.

Maddie Smith and Lori Flannery hit back-to-back singles to open the inning. Smith, who stole second, scored on a sac fly by Emily Dobrowolski. With two outs, a run scored on an Abington miscue. Gia Bono drew a walk, and that was followed by Anna Powel’s RBI single. Liv Brodzinski also had an RBI single, and the Colonials led 8-0.

“Today was our Cancer Awareness Game, and it was such a great environment with our fans and community members coming out to support the cause. The girls could feel the love and the vibe in the dugout was amazing.
“I’m so happy and proud of the way our girls have come together the past two weeks, after a couple of tough losses, to support each other and focus on team success. The positivity and excitement has overflowed onto the field and the team has been clicking on all cylinders. All of our pitchers have been throwing great, our defense has been flawless, and our bats have started to come around.”

Lori also made an amazing diving catch in center field today. Gia Bono was on base all three times, including a home run to lead off the bottom of the third inning. The Panthers pounded out 16 hits and brought an early end to the game with a 10-run fourth inning. Highlights of the inning included a two-run home run by Ellie Hilton as well as run-scoring doubles by Cadence Jozefowski, Ava Jones and Anna Bruno.
Kaylee Carr earned the win in the circle.

The Lions held their 4th annual "Raising Awareness and Supporting Survivors" of Sexual Abuse game. They dominated play from the outset, opening up a 7-3 lead after one inning on their way to the win in the abbreviated contest.
Victoria Rutkowski notched the win in the circle and also doubled and drove in three runs to lead the Lions.

After falling behind 1-0 early, the Golden Bears plated a pair of unearned runs in the second inning to take a lead they would not lose.
Delaney Stout tossed the complete game two-hitter for the Golden Bears. She struck out 14 in another dominant outing.

“Springfield got an early run, and we knew we had to regroup and put some runs on the board. Melissa Torpey led our offense going 2-for-4, and Sofia Magana singled with an RBI.”
