NESHAMINY 4, PENNSBURY 2
The Redskins scored three runs in the top of the first, and that proved to be the difference in the game. Adriana Superka earned the complete game win, scattering five hits and allowing two runs while striking out six.
“Any time we play Pennsbury, we know it’s going to be a really tough game,” Neshaminy coach Sarah Martoccio said. “I feel like both teams tend to really rise to the occasion because it’s such a big rivalry.”
The Falcons made it a 3-2 game with two runs in the bottom of the third inning that was highlighted by a leadoff single by Keira Hoffman, a groundout RBI by Liv Czerniak and an RBI single by Bella Morales.
Neshaminy added an insurance run in the top of the seventh when Kendall McCafferty delivered a two-out RBI single.

Key inning: Top of first – With one out, Addie Pennisi lined a single to left, and with two outs, Kendall McCafferty drew a walk. Riley McCafferty lined a double to center that plated Pennisi, and that was followed by a double to left by Zahmira Coppolo-Miller that scored two runs, giving the Redskins an early 3-0 lead.

--Superka delivers: “Today, Adriana Superka had a fantastic day on the mound. She really did a nice job keeping everybody off balance. She had six strikeouts. She really just commands and pounds the zone, and she also does a really nice job of mixing up speeds and locations.”
--Jumping on top early: “I always tell the girls I like being away sometimes because we get the opportunity to get our bats in the game first. They did a really nice job of capitalizing in that first inning. Our bats kind of shut down a little bit in the middle of the game, and we got a fourth run in the top of the seventh when Kendall McCafferty hit a double in the gap, but getting that early lead really gives the girls that drive and motivation to start the game and helps set the tone for us offensively.”
--Strong start to season: “We’re really blessed with a fantastic team this year with a lot of depth in a lot of different positions, so we’ve had the flexibility to move people around and get a lot of people time at different positions that they play. Working all of the bats into the lineup is a great problem to have when you have too many bats for the amount of people you can put in the lineup, and the same with pitching. We have a really large pitching staff this year, so it’s been really nice to be able to work a lot of those girls in and keep teams off balance and work offensively and defensively to get some of these big wins.”

The Tigers erased an early 5-2 deficit with a seven-run third inning, marking the beginning of a 14-0 tear that blew the game wide open.
Taylor Carney’s four-hit effort led the Tigers’ hit parade. All told, the Tigers pounded out 23 hits.
Gina Oliverio led the Owls with a 3-for-3 effort that included a double, RBI and two runs scored.
Kam Schmidt and Melanie Mahler combined for the win in the circle.

Key inning: Top of third – The Tigers trailed 5-2 after two innings but took a lead they would not lose with a seven-run third inning. Kam Schmidt lined a double to right to lead off the inning and scored when Lucianna Oliveras followed with a double. Mel Mahler drew a walk, setting the stage for a two-run triple to center field by Marley Montgomery.

SOUDERTON 4, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0
The Patriots managed just one baserunner in a contest that saw four – yes, four - Souderton pitchers combine on the one-hit shutout. Ava Detwiler notched the win with two shutout innings to open the game. That was followed by two shutout innings from
Kathryn Jones and Madi Mott. Katie Straub closed it out with a one-two-three seventh, putting an exclamation mark on the win with back-to-back strikeouts to close out the game.
Olivia Owtscharuk’s one-out single in the first was the Patriots’ lone baserunner. The foursome retired 20 in a row after that, combining for 10 strikeouts while walking none.
The Indians added single runs in the third and fourth innings. In the third, Kiera Fadden hit a one-out double to left and scored when Kathryn Jones delivered a two-out single. In the fourth, Emma Lewis had a two-out RBI single.

Key inning: Top of first - The Indians set the tone for the shutout win in the first inning. With one out, Skyler Byrnes smoked a solo home run to left field. Kiera Fadden 
followed with a single, and that was followed by back-to-back walks to Ava Detwiler and Kathryn Jones. A fielder’s choice by Emma Messmer brought home the inning’s second run.
Souderton coach Tyler Bui:
--The game: “We scored two runs right out of the gate. One of the runs came on a ball Skyler Byrnes pierced through the strong winds for a home run. However, CB East didn't relent and battled until the very end.
“The score doesn't show it, but we had a lot of quality at-bats, and that is all I can ask for when you have strong winds blowing in. Fortunately for us, we had outstanding performances from all four of our pitchers. They combined for a complete game shutout, striking out 10, and allowing only one baserunner. Ava Detwiler, Kathryn Jones, Madi Mott, and Katie Straub are extremely talented pitchers, and they have all found success pitching this year using their unique qualities and strengths.”
--Props: “Kiera Fadden was our leadoff hitter last year and really our spark plug. This year, she has given us a new spark in the third spot. She had another big day with three hits and two runs.”

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 17, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 10
In a contest that saw the two teams combine for 25 hits and 27 runs, it was the miscues that were the difference in the game. The Titans scored 17 runs but only seven were earned.
The Titans plated five runs in the first inning – none earned - and led wire to wire. Keira Im had a huge day at the plate for the Titans, finishing 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Erin Ruddell had a team-high five RBIs.
For the Bucks, Sam Hooven led the way with a 2-for-2 day at the plate with a pair of home runs and four RBIs.

Key inning: Top of the first – The Titans plated five runs in the top of the first and never trailed. Erin Ruddell led off the inning and was safe on an error. One out later, Keira Im singled, and with two outs, Camryn Lee drove in a pair with a single. An error and walked loaded the bases for Kaylie Bonsall, who lofted a double to center that cleared the bases and put the Titans on top 5-0.
Central Bucks South coach Ali Theis:
“We always love the rivalry between our Central Bucks schools. Hitting on both sides today was outstanding. It was nice to come together today after the long weekend and play relaxed yet focused. Everyone is contributing and it's awesome to see them together as a team.”
Central Bucks West coach Mike Daher:
“I felt like we hit the ball today like we are capable of hitting, but we just did not make the plays on defense that we needed to make to stay in the game today with CB South. They are a good team, and to beat teams like South, you must hit the ball well, you have to play good defense, and you have to get good pitching. Kendall Kornuszko threw well enough today to get a win, and we hit the ball well enough to score ten runs, but we simply did not play good defense. Too many errors at key times of the game really hurt us today. But we had some real positives to build on today.”
--Some positives: “Sam Hooven hit two home runs today and really helped to get our offense going. She is hitting the ball extremely well right now. She played great defense as well, throwing out two runners who tried to steal on her. Marley Swain, Taylor Sheplockl, Addie McMackin and Jill Boyle all chipped in with two hits apiece. Hailey Sigler also contributed a hit on the day. There were definitely some positives to take away from today's game. Hopefully we can begin to put all three phases of the game together moving forward, offense, defense and pitching, and we then I think we will be a far more competitive team.”

NORTH PENN 13, PENNRIDGE 1 (5 innings)
Felicia Connolly and Brandi Groarke combined on a two-hitter as the Knights turned in yet another dominant performance, notching their eighth win in as many games. Connolly earned the win with four shutout innings. She allowed one hit, struck out 10 and did not walk a batter. Groarke pitched a scoreless fifth.
The Knights took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first without collecting a hit and added a run in the second inning. A six-run third put the game out of reach.
Alana Battavio had a productive day out of the leadoff spot, finishing 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBIs. Gabriella Brigidi added a pair of hits, including a home run, and three RBIs.

Felicia Connolly led off the inning with a double, and Brandi Groarke followed and drew a walk. A one-out walk to Cailin Halfpenny loaded the bases. Gianna Howard lined an RBI single to left field, and then it was Gabriella Brigidi lining a two-run single to right field. Alana Battavio delivered the inning’s big blow – a three-run home run to left field that put the Knights on top 8-0 on their way to the mercy rule win.

ABINGTON 26, WISSAHICKON 16 (5 innings)
The Ghosts displayed remarkable resiliency, never flinching when the Trojans put 10 runs on the board in the top of the first inning. They not only erased that deficit, but – sparked by the seven-RBI effort of Sophia Dever, they rallied for the win.
“We were down 10–0 in top of the first inning, and a lot of teams would have folded, but this group didn’t,” Abington coach Tina Hesdon said. “They kept fighting and earned every bit of today’s win. I couldn’t be more proud of them.”
The Ghosts answered with three runs in the first and five more in the second to make it a two-run game.
Wiss upped its lead to 13-8, but the Ghosts responded with six runs in the bottom of the inning to go on top 14-13 on Danica Santiago’s sacrifice fly. The Trojans evened the score with an unearned run in the top of the fourth, and the Ghosts took a lead they would not lose in the bottom of the inning.
All told, the Ghosts pounded out 20 hits, led by the three hit efforts of Mia Lucke, Sophia Dever and Paige Holden.
For the Trojans, Giuliana Schumann and Mackenzie Melrath both had three hits.

With one out, Mia Lucke lofted a solo home run to left field. Zoe Kelly followed with a single and scored on the throw on Grace Meehan’s single. Meehan scored on a passed ball, and Paige Holden was safe on an error. A run scored on Danica Santiago’s single, and Chaselynn Spera-Wright’s double to left field drove in the fifth run, putting the Ghosts on top 19-14.

--Props: “Sophia Dever came through in a big way today with seven RBIs, four runs, and three hits, one of which was her first varsity homerun. She made smart decisions on the bases and played outstanding defense at first. Her potential is limitless.
“Mia Lucke also came up big, going 3-for-4 with a homerun with three stolen bases
“Grace Meehan was a catalyst for changing the mood on the bench by getting everyone motivated, and then went 2-for-4 with five RBIs.”
--More props: “Danica Santiago has been pitching well for us this season. At times, we haven’t provided the level of support she’s needed in the field, but she continues to go out there composed and maintaining her focus. Today, she helped herself out offensively, driving in four runs while going 2-for-3.
“Zoe Kelly and Paige Holden continue to produce in the lineup every game and are players we can count on with Zoe going 3-for-4 and Paige going 3-for-5. Both were aggressive on the base path with two stolen bases.”

Kayla Garrison scattered four hits in a complete game win that was highlighted by 14 strikeouts. The Cards’ senior ace helped her own cause with a three-run double.
The Panthers led 1-0 after Kayla Scheibenhofer led off the second with a solo home run. The Cardinals answered with six runs in the bottom of the inning and never looked back.

--The game: “Today was an important win for us. We’ve been competitive in every game this year, but today we did a really good job of doing a number of things well. We hit the ball hard and capitalized on at-bats with runners in scoring position throughout the lineup. There are still some things we need to sharpen up offensively to help us get to the next level, but the team is playing solid, consistent defense and the efforts of Kyla Garrison on the mound, coupled with Dooley Hennessey behind the plate has really kept us in games, making it difficult for opposing teams to get momentum offensively.”

Teagan Stanley and Emma Keely combined for a one-hit shutout in the abbreviated mercy rule win, and the Colonials gave them all the support they would need with a run in the second and then blew the game wide open with a seven-run third.
Joslyn Perez and Lizzy LaNoce combined for four hits – three doubles – to lead the Colonials. Emily Dobrowolski’s three-run triple highlighted the seven-run third.

Another Hatter miscue allowed a seventh run to cross the plate.

“I am so proud of our entire team for this all-around great league win. Recently, we’ve been emphasizing team success over individual achievements, doing the ‘little things’ and doing whatever it 
takes to win games. Today, you could tell the team really focused on that We>Me mentality.
--Defensive shoutouts: “Our defense played extremely well today, only allowing one hit and playing error free softball. Emily Dobrowolski (RF) had a great 9-3 putout in the first to rob a hit, Gia Bono (C) threw a girl out trying to steal to end an inning, and Maddie Swift (2B) and Joslyn Perez (SS) combined for eight putouts up the middle.”
--Offensive Stars: “Joslyn Perez and Lizzy LaNoce led the way with two hits apiece, Liv Brodzinski was on base all three times up (scoring three runs), and the bottom of our lineup combined for five RBIs; Lori Flannery with two and Emily Dobrowolski with a huge three-run triple in a seven-run third inning (all with two outs).
--Strong in the circle: “Teagan Stanley and Emma Keely combined for the five-inning, one-hit shutout. I can’t say enough about the unselfishness of our pitching staff. We are in a very unique situation with five very capable pitchers on our varsity roster. They have all been amazing so far and extremely selfless in their approach to the games.”

Raelynn Salaman had herself a day at the plate, and Addison Strachan tossed a complete game win.
Salaman erased a 2-0 deficit with a two-run home run to center field in the third inning. Her RBI double in the bottom of the sixth gave the Panthers their final margin of victory.
Strachan allowed just three hits and no earned runs in the complete game win, striking out seven.

Dagny Mobley allowed just one hit and no earned runs in the five-inning mercy rule win. Lower Moreland kept it close until the bottom of the third when they put seven runs on the board to seize control of the game.
