COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 12, BENSALEM 2 (5 innings)
The Golden Hawks erupted for six runs in the second and six more in the third on their way to the mercy rule win in an SOL division contest.
Freshman Ashlyn Curtier turned in a perfect day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
“She’s off to an outstanding start to her high school career and continues to show she’s a special player who gives everything she has on the field,” Rock South coach Scott Molle said. “Ashlyn is exciting to watch and plays the game the right way.”
Natalie Neubauer earned the complete game win.

Key inning: Bottom of second – Sophia Salamon, Faith Ortman and Margot McLean drew back-to-back-to-back walks to open the inning. A pair of runs scored on a single by Veronica Herzog, and the bases were loaded when Molly Gabriele legged out a bunt single. With one out, Ashlyn Curtier lined a two-run double to left field. Paige Brady’s groundout brought a fifth run home, and Avery Ochs RBI single gave the Golden Hawks a 6-0 lead on their way to the mercy rule win.

“With a week off from games starting tomorrow, we’re looking forward to getting back to work in practice, continuing to develop, and building on the progress we’ve made so far this season.”
--Props: “Junior Paige Brady stayed hot at the plate, driving in three runs and adding a double. She continues to put together quality at-bats, and when she stays patient, she’s been a consistent producer for us.
“Sophomore Victoria Herzog added two RBIs and showed great progress at the plate. She had strong at-bats throughout the day and consistently made solid contact.
“Avery Ochs went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk, continuing her steady production at the plate this season. She consistently delivers quality at-bats and has been someone the coaching staff can rely on in key situations.”
--Neubauer steady again: “In the circle, Natalie Neubauer delivered another steady performance. She continues to improve each outing and competes on every pitch, giving us a strong presence on the mound.”
Up next: Council Rock South is off until next Tuesday, April 14, when the Golden Hawks will travel to Pennsbury. Bensalem will host Harry S Truman on Tuesday.

SOL non-league crossover
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 12, NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 4
The Indians erased an early 2-0 deficit with an eight-run bottom of the first on their way to the decisive win. The inning was highlighted by Haley Edelman’s two-run double.
A two-run first for the Lions featured an RBI double by Mabel Klossner and an RBI single by Riley Sim, whose perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate led New Hope.
Mia Kiskurno started and notched the win in the circle while Lucy Mills tossed 4.1 innings in scoreless relief.

Key inning: Bottom of first – Trailing 2-0, the Indians put eight runs on the board to take control of the game. Kayla Ripper drew a leadoff walk, and Zoe Hornstein singled. A walk to Chelsea Seiler loaded the bases. With one out, Katie Wilkoski drew a bases-loaded walk, pushing the Indians’ first run across. With two outs, Maddy Reinhardt drew a walk that plated the tying run. Haley Edelman’s line drive double scored a pair of runs, and Liv Schlindwein singled home a run. Ripper’s bunt single plated a run, and an eighth run scored on a Lions’ miscue.
Council Rock North coach John Engelhardt:
“It wasn’t our best performance, however, it’s a good win against a good program. Happy for Haley Edelman who came through in a big spot with bases loaded with two outs in the first inning.”
Up next: Council Rock North is off until Tuesday, April 14, when the Indians will be on the road at Harry S Truman. New Hope-Solebury will host Lower Moreland on Tuesday.

PENNSBURY 7, NORTH POCONO 1
The Falcons put five runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back on their way to a non-league win over the defending District II 5A 
champions. Syd Kandravi’s three-run home run was the big blow in the inning.
Freshman Paige Fidishun earned the complete game win, allowing six hits and one run. She struck out four and walked one.
“The best part of the line is the one walk,” Pennsbury coach Frank McSherry said. “She kept them off base.
“It was a good win. We didn’t know what to expect. We heard good things about them.”
Key inning: Bottom of first – Bella Morales hit a one-out single, stole second and scored on Jenna Thompson’s RBI single. Jaylynn Rodweller followed with a single, and Paige Fidishun’s RBI single put the Falcons on top 2-0. Syd Kandravi followed with a three-run blast that made it a 5-0 game. The Falcons never looked back.
Up next: Pennsbury will travel to Neshaminy on Tuesday.
