NESHAMINY 2, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 1
In a classic pitcher’s duel, it was the Redskins – behind the strong arm of Molly Ambrosius – eking out the win. In the complete game win, the senior allowed just three hits and one run. She struck out nine.
“The star of the show today was absolutely Molly (Ambrosius),” Neshaminy coach Sarah Martoccio said. “She had a fantastic day on the mound. She was in control, and she didn’t get rattled. She works really hard, and that showed in the results today.”
Early on, in the top of the third, Neshaminy took a 1-0 lead when – with two outs – Ellie Miller lined a double to center field and scored on Addie Pennisi’s single to right field.
Neshaminy added an unearned run the top of the sixth, and it proved significant when the Golden Hawks scored a run in the bottom of the inning when Jenna Pesapone – who led off the inning with a double – scored when Avery Ochs hit a two-out double to right.
That would be the extent of the scoring for both sides.
Rock South’s Natalie Neubauer turned in a gem of her own in the circle, allowing two runs – only one earned – while striking out six and walking none.

--The game: “It’s obviously not ideal to only put two runs on the board, and the girls know that. We’re going to continue to work through that in the future, but it’s really also nice to know that even when we don’t put up a whole bunch of runs that our pitching and our defense can still keep us in those games, and we can pull out wins in those situations as well.”
“For the most part, the girls were on top of it defensively, and then offensively we had a decent string of hits that we were able to put together to put up two runs.”
--Props: “Keira Secoda led the team with two hits, and her base running today was phenomenal, which really helped us out as well.”

PENNSBURY 7, HARRY S TRUMAN 2
Jenna Thompson’s three-run home run highlighted a four-run fourth inning that put the Falcons on top 5-0. The Tigers answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning – sparked by an RBI single by Marley Montgomery and a bases-loaded walk to Emma Keeley, but that’s as close as they would get.
Pennsbury’s Jaylynn Rodweller – who had a pair of hits - led off the sixth with a solo home run.
Paige Fidishun notched the complete game win for the Falcons, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out eight and walking two.

Key inning: Top of fourth – The Falcons put four runs on the board to go on top 5-0. The inning included a single by Liv Czerniak, a walk to Jaylynn Rodweller and a single by Paige Fidishun loaded the bases. Czerniak scored on a steal of home, and three runs crossed the plate when Jenna Thompson smashed a home run to right field that gave the Falcons a 5-0 lead on their way to the road win.

SOUDERTON 14, PENNRIDGE 3 (5 innings)
Back-to-back home runs by Kiera Fadden and Skyler Byrnes in the top of the first set the tone for another big offensive performance by the Indians, who pounded out 14 hits in the abbreviated contest.
The twosome proved to be a lethal duo on Tuesday.
Byrnes had herself a day for the record books with a home run on all three trips to the plate. After hitting a solo home run in the first, Byrnes ripped a two-run shot in a three-run second, putting the Indians on top 5-2. Her third came in the fourth inning, this time a two-run blast that once again plated Fadden, who this time had doubled.
When Byrnes stepped to the plate with runners on second and third in the fifth, she was given an intentional walk.
For the day, Fadden and Byrnes – the Indians two and three hitters – put on an offensive clinic, both finishing the abbreviated game 3-for-3. Fadden had a double, home run and three RBIs while Byrnes -with her three round trippers – had five RBIs and four runs scored. For good measure, she also threw two shutout innings to close out the game.
The Indians brought an early end to the game with a six-run fifth that was highlighted by back-to-back RBI doubles by Kathryn Jones – who also had three hits on the day - and Ava Detwiler.
For the Rams, Taylor Toutkoushian – who had a pair of hits - smashed a two-run home run in the bottom of the first to make it a 3-2 game. The Indians got those two runs back in the top of the second when Byrnes hit her second home run in as many at bats.
Detwiler notched the win in the circle for the Indians.

“Pennridge came to battle today. We scored three runs to start the game, and they came right back with two of their own in the bottom of the inning. Pennridge has really improved as a team, and their hitters do a nice job of putting the ball in play. I was fortunate to have coached many of the seniors on this team, and it has been great to see their development throughout the season. They are a really special group of girls with bright futures.
“Our coaching staff has emphasized the importance of staying the course and keeping our focus down the stretch. I am proud of how the girls are approaching each game as if it's their last. They're playing with urgency but are loose and having fun.”
--Props: “Our seniors continue to contribute in a big way. Skyler Byrnes hit three home runs and pitched two scoreless innings. Ava Detwiler had two hits and got the win for us on the mound. Kathryn Jones has really been an unsung hero on our team. She had three more hits and is putting up MVP-type numbers this year. I thought all of our players had great at-bats today, but I was especially proud of Kiera (Fadden) and her ability to attack balls at different speeds and locations. We have become more disciplined at the plate, which has made us more of a threat offensively.”
Pennridge coach Crystalrae States:
“We hit the ball hard. Souderton made plays on well driven balls, and we couldn’t find any holes today. Taylor hit another home run which kept us close early in the game. Lots of nice at bats coming from Jules, Brooke and Madison. Madison continues to improve in the circle and is learning how to be crafty with a top to bottom lineup. She’s getting the experience she needs to be a really potent pitcher. We have Senior Night against East on Thursday and looking forward to celebrating our seniors and playing a good game.”

It was another overpowering performance by Felicia Connolly.
The Villanova-bound senior was all but untouchable, fanning 16, walking one and allowing just one hit – a leadoff single to right field by Marley Swain in the bottom of the fifth. Swain advanced to second on a passed ball but would get no further.
“She’s in a rhythm, and she’s been in rhythm,” North Penn coach Rick Torresani said of Connolly. “All her pitches are working. She’s a hard worker, and that’s why things are working out for her right now.”
The Knights scored the only run Connolly would need in the top of the first when Gabby Battavio delivered a two-out single that plated, Gabriella Brigidi, who had walked.
The Knights took a 7-0 lead into the seventh when they plated three runs for the 10-0 final.
Smink’s three-hit day led the Knights and included four RBIs – three in the sixth on a three-run home run.
“She’s hitting well over .350 and batting third,” Torresani said. “She got that big hit in the fourth inning and then the three-run home run.”

Alana Drummond was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a wild pitch. She scored when Brandi Groarke followed with a double. Gianna Howard laid down a sacrifice bunt, and Cailin Halfpenny doubled home Groarke. With two outs, Tallie Smink hit an RBI single, and Smink scored when Gabby Battavio doubled. Alana Battavio singled, and Gabby Battavio scored on an error on the play, giving the Knights a 6-0 lead.

--Timely hits: “We have not been hitting with runners on base throughout the season even though we’ve had a lot of runs scored, and today was one of the first games in a while that we got some clutch hits with girls on base.
“Up until today, we had left 123 runners on base in 14 games, which is a lot. It’s like we’ve always said – good pitching, good defense and timely hitting wins you championships, so that’s what we’ve been working on.”

Twenty-four hours after a loss to Pennsbury in an SOL crossover game, the Colonials bounced back and notched a decisive win over the visiting Panthers.
“I want to give the team a huge shout out for coming right back after yesterday’s tough loss to 
take care of business in a league play rematch,” PW coach Mike Perez said.
Liv Brodzinski notched the complete game win, scattering six hits and allowing one run. She also helped herself at the plate with a double and RBI.
After Brodzinski retired the Panthers in order in the first, the Colonials came back and put an unearned run on the board when Zoey Robinson, who reached base on an error, scored on a sac fly by Anna Powel.
It was 3-0 after two innings, and the Colonials doubled their score with a three-run third that was highlighted by an RBI double from Brodzinski and an RBI triple from Maddie Swift.
The Colonials took a 7-0 lead into the seventh when the Panthers plated their lone run on an RBI single by Kaylee Carr.

--Props: “The offense was firing early, scoring runs in each of the first four innings. The offensive attack was led by two hits each from Maddie Swift (2B & 3B, 2 runs, 1 RBI), Liv Brodzinski (RBI double) and Gia Bono (double). Lori Flannery also knocked in two runs.
“Liv Brodzinski also threw a complete game, scattering 6 hits and striking out 9! She was really on today; moving the ball around the zone and spinning the ball really well.”

Upper Dublin celebrated seniors Kyla Garrison and Madison Small with a win in Tuesday’s division contest.
Garrison starred at the plate and in the circle. Her four-hit effort included two doubles and three
RBIs. The senior standout took a shutout into the seventh inning when the Trojans scored a pair of runs – both were unearned. Garrison fanned 10 and walked one.
The Cards scored single runs in the first and third innings and added two runs in the fourth. A four-run sixth was highlighted by a two-run double from Ava Renye.

“Today’s win was a good all-around team effort offensively. Whenever you have 10 different players contribute to the scoring efforts in a game (like we had today), either from timely hitting, good base running, or a well-executed sacrifice bunt or quality at bat, that will make you a team that is difficult to beat. This was especially important because Wissahickon has the ability to put the ball in play and manufacture runs (which is what they did in the seventh inning). We often talk about the mindset of ‘win the inning,’ and I was proud of the girls for doing this today and finding a way to close out the game after Wiss scored a few runs.”

Izzy O’Brien did it all for her Lions’ squad in Tuesday’s win.
The LM leadoff hitter had a pair of hits, drove in four runs and scored three times. She also notched the win in the circle, scattering four hits and allowing just one earned run while striking out seven and walking one.
In the top of the first, the Lions put a pair of runs on the board without collecting a hit, benefitting from four walks. They added three more in the second and took that 5-0 lead into the sixth inning when the two teams exchanged runs. A five-run seventh was highlighted by Jordyn MacPhee’s leadoff double, a two-run double by Izzy O’Brien and an RBI double by Molly Weber.

Delaney Stout threw a five-inning no-hitter in Tuesday’s abbreviated contest. She recorded 15 outs – all 15 by strikeout in a brilliant outing. The Panthers had three base runners – one was hit by a pitch, two reached base the result of errors.
The Golden Bears exploded for 12 runs in the second inning, turning a 2-0 lead into a 14-0 advantage. Included in the inning were doubles by Claire Walton (leadoff), Taylor Pagano (RBI), Jordyn Gibbs (2 RBIs) and Brooklyn Kavanagh (2 RBIs)
Layla Knecht’ 3-for-3 effort at the plate led the Golden Bears, who collected 12 hits in the five-inning contest.
In the absence of coach Melanie Martino on Tuesday, assistant coaches Jackie Martino and Haleigh Woodman filled in with Jackie Martino the acting head coach.
"I’m really proud of the players for today’s performance,” Jackie Martino said. “We were clean in the field, smart up to bat while being aggressive. They came locked in ready to play in every way start to finish."

The Lions scored early and often on their way to the convincing win in Tuesday’s abbreviated contest. They took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first and never looked back.
It was a 4-0 game heading into the third inning when the Lions put four runs on the board. Riley Sim led off the inning with a solo home run to center field. Kaylee Harris followed with a bunt single. A double play threatened to put a damper on the rally, but it didn’t. Morgan Foster’s single brought home a pair, and then it was Rachel Sim lining a two-run double to center field. An RBI single by Mabel Klossner put the Lions on top 8-0 on their way to the shutout win.
Rachel Sim had a big day out of the two hole, finishing 3-for-3. Kaylee Harris also had a 3-for-3 day at the plate.
Dagny Mobley earned the win in the circle, allowing two hits in four shutout innings while striking out six and walking none. Klossner threw a 1-2-3 fifth inning to close out the contest.
