CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 9, HATBORO-HORSHAM 1
Kendall Kornuszko notched the complete game win, throwing only 88 pitches – 61 for strikes. It was the third win of the young season for the junior starter.
At the plate, the Bucks had some struggles against the Hatters starting pitcher, Annabelle Deacon. Deacon kept the Bucks hitters off balance for a good part of the day and kept the Hatters in the game until the Bucks scored seven runs in the sixth inning to break open a 2-1 game.
Maya Ravi had two of the Hatters’ four hits.

Key inning: Top of sixth – The Bucks blew open a close game with a seven-run sixth. Makala Burkholder reached base on an error to start the inning. Hailey Sigler followed with a bunt single. Burkholder advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on the same play after the Hatters’ catcher made an errant throw to third. Evi Cherry plated another run for West when Hailey Sigler hustled home from third base on a ground ball back to the shortstop. The inning did not end there as six more Bucks runners would cross the plate. The big hits for the Bucks during the inning were two-out RBI singles by first baseman Marley Swain and catcher Sam Hooven. When the inning ended, the Bucks lead grew from 2-1 to 9-1.

--Kornuszko's day: "Kendall threw really well today. She was very effective changing speeds and did an outstanding job hitting her spots all day long. To throw 88 pitches and only 17 of those being balls, shows you how far she has come this season. She did not fall behind many hitters, but when she did, she was still able to make good pitches while battling back and getting outs. She is really making great progress day to day, and her confidence is growing with each outing. Kendall is showing a lot of promise."
--The game: “We definitely did not play our best game today, and we made too many base running mistakes. We are an aggressive base running team, but we ran ourselves out of a few innings today by trying to advance runners at inopportune times. We are usually a good base running team, but today we just made too many mistakes.
“I told our girls after the game - when you don't play your best game and you still pick up a win, it is the sign of a good team. Hopefully, we will learn from some of the mistakes we made today on the bases, correct them, and improve our play moving forward."
--Props: “There were some bright spots though for our team. Jill Boyle picked up another hit and stole two bases. Marly Swain and Makala Burkholder both had two hits on the day and each chipped in a run scored and a run batted in on the day. Sam Hooven had an RBI single, and Taylor Sheplock scored two runs."
Up next: Central Bucks West (4-4) will travel to Pennridge on Tuesday, and Hatboro-Horsham will be on the road at Wissahickon Tuesday.

UPPER MORELAND 12, WISSAHICKON 2 (6 innings)
Delaney Stout was once again on top of her game, tossing a six-inning no hitter and fanning 16.
The Golden Bears had a 3-0 lead after three innings, and the Trojans threatened to make the game interesting with a pair of unearned runs in the top of the fourth.
In the bottom of the inning, the Bears put some distance between themselves and the Trojans with a five-run outburst

Key inning: Bottom of third – Brooklyn Kavanagh was safe on an error to open the inning, and Melissa Torpey following with a double. Delaney Stout drew a one-out walk to load the bases. Jordyn Gibbs bases-loaded walk plated a run. Claire Walton’s single to center plated a pair – the second on an error to put the Bears on top 3-1.

"We hit the ball very well today. Freshman Brooklyn Kavanaugh has stepped into the leadoff role recently and ignited our offense with her first at bat. Melissa Torpey had two singles and a hard hit double, Delaney Stout had a double and a single with 2 RBIs. Freshman Alaina Darsney had a great bunt today and a hard hit ball into left with Sofia Magagna on second. Sofia scored to end the game. We have a very young young team this year and to see everyone starting to hit the ball well is perfect timing."

Gianna Santagelo needed just a single to hit for the cycle, finishing with a double, triple home run and six RBIs in a glittering offensive performance. Austin Haberle also had three hits. In the abbreviated game, the Panthers pounded out 18 hits and put 14 runs on the board in the first inning and 12 more in the second.

The Lady Panthers opened up an 8-3 lead after two innings and brought an early end to the game with a seven-run sixth that was highlighted by a two-run double by Morgan Kelly.

An error allowed a fifth run to cross the plate.

The Mount jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the top of the first and upped its lead to 11-4 in the third on its way to the non-league win Monday.
Sophia Dever led the Ghosts with a pair of hits, including a double and RBI.

The Flying Cardinals never could solve the mystery of Sadie Fitch, who tossed a six-inning no-hitter. She walked three and fanned three.
Offensively, the Warriors were led by Fitch (2-for-2, 3RBI, 2R), Kate Pettine (2-for-3, 1R) and Madison Isbrecht (2-for-4, 3RBIs.”
UD’s Kyla Garrison struck out 11 in the loss.
