SOL National Conerence
CR South 3, Pennsbury 2 (28-26, 25-14, 23-25, 22-25, 15-12)
In an all-out battle, the Golden Hawks prevailed on their senior night to win against league rival Pennsbury.
“It’s always great to go up against Pennsbury’s formidable offense and strong servers, it’s a competitive battle, many of the girls having been teammates in their club seasons,” Rock South coach Kelly Korn said. “The crowd for both teams was loud and enthusiastic and the energy in the gym was high.”
The seniors for South, according to their coach, played with heart and confidence, Middle Ella Ford consistently put up blocks, Middle Kristina Shumakov put up 4 blocks and had 7 kills, Opposite Haley Lukach had a kill and consistently set up a strong block, Senior Olivia DeSaro ran the court with 21 digs, 27 kills and 2 blocks.
Defensively Chloe Brossman dug up 25 and added an ace and Soleil Kauer dug up 15 and added 9 kills and 2 aces. Setter Emelie Korn had 33 assists, 15 digs and added 2 kills and an ace. Riley Witmer added 4 kills and 2 blocks.
Sophomore DSs Mia Bacevich and Niamh McGinley were clutch at the service line, each with runs that were game changers. Mia with 3 aces and Niamh with 2.
“It was as always a team effort, everyone contributing to the final outcome,” coach Korn said. “It has been our focus all season - TEAM - and everyone doing their job and playing within themselves. They have embraced that concept and it’s amazing to watch them play.
“I have been so very lucky to coach this senior class these past 2 years, they are amazing young women and great teammates and leaders. Looking forward to our last regular season matches next week and our playoff run!”
Up next: Council Rock South will travel to Bensalem Monday, and Pennsbury will host Willliam Tennent on Monday.
SOL non-league crossover
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, BENSALEM 1
After dropping the first set, Central Bucks West rolled through the next three to earn a 3-1 (16-25, 25-16, 25-10, 25-20) victory over visiting Bensalem in Friday’s SOL Crossover matchup.
Kya Lynch led the Bucks with 18 kills, while Erinn McCusker dished out 15 assists. Charley Brexler served up six aces.

Kaitlyn Small dished out 34 assists and Alisa Zeng recorded 18 digs as Upper Dublin swept Strath Haven in Friday’s nonleague matchup. Madison Small delivered 13 kills.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, NESHAMINY 1
National Division frontrunner Council Rock North surrendered the first set, then swept the next three to earn a 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-6) win over Neshaminy in Thursday’s league matchup.
Kinley Adams spread the ball out with 35 assists. Olivia Szymkiewicz drilled 21 kills, while Sloan Jordan added 16.
By the numbers: Council Rock North: Olivia Szymkiewicz (21 kills, 10 aces, 3 assists, 3 blocks), Sloane Jordan (16 kills, 2 aces), Kinley Adams (35 assists, 4 kills, 2 aces).
Council Rock North coach Joe Scheweitzer: “Our offense started off a bit sluggish. During the second set, our serving really picked up and we scored eight aces and this allowed our senior duo of Olivia and Sloan to have five and four kills, respectively. In the third set, senior Ava Liedl had a 10-point service game. In the fourth set, Olivia had an 11-point service run with 5 aces. If we can continue to serve well, it will allow our offense to be more productive.”

SOL Continental Conference
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, NORTH PENN 1
Olivia Hessenthaler made program history on Thursday.
Central Bucks South’s junior libero recorded the 1000th dig of her high school career as part of a 19-dig game as the Titans handed North Penn its first Continental Division loss of the season, 3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 25-18, 29-27).
“I’m just so incredibly proud tonight. Olivia has poured her heart into this game, and seeing her reach this milestone is such a special moment,” said Titans’ coach Kurt Godfrey. “She’s been such a huge part of our team over the past three years—I honestly can’t even begin to imagine where she’ll finish on the all-time digs list.
“Her determination, her consistency, and the way she shows up for her teammates every single day have been nothing short of inspiring. She’s truly earned every single one of those 1,000 digs.”
Carly Scott delivered 35 assists in the victory.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, QUAKERTOWN 0
Kya Lynch posted a double-double, ripping 16 kills and racking up 14 digs, as Central Bucks West topped Quakertown 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-22) in Thursday’s Continental Division matchup.
Emily Ferresse picked up 17 digs, while Erinn McCusker delivered 15 assists.
Genevieve Clark led Quakertown with 13 assists.

NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 3, ABINGTON 0
Abington put up a good fight, but fell in straight sets (25-22, 25-17, 25-20) to New-Hope Solebury in an SOL Crossover match on Thursday.
Junior Maddie Peltzer led the Ghosts with 9 kills, 1 ace, 5 digs, and 9 blocks; while fellow junior Sofie Heininger added 9 kills, 8 digs, and 2 blocks, continuing her strong all-around play.
Seniors Ava Peltzer, Katie Pennekamp, and Morgan Kuchar anchored the front line with skill, leadership, and grit.
Despite the loss, Abington showed resilience and flashes of high-level play, keeping each set competitive and pushing New Hope-Solebury throughout the match.
Up next: The Lions host Springfield Twp at 5 pm Monday. Abington will host Wissahickon at 7 pm Monday.
PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, WISSAHICKON 0
In a game with significant implications, Plymouth Whitemarsh handled Wissahickon 3-0 (25-3, 25-13, 25-9) to keep pace for a potential showdown for the American Division title.
Giuliana Storti led the Colonials – who had 31 kills and 24 aces as a team – with 12 digs, while also serving nine aces.
The Colonials are one league win away from a heavyweight battle for the league championship on Wednesday. PW can secure that opportunity with a win against Hatboro Horsham on Monday.
