Central Bucks West 8, Central Bucks East 3
In a stellar defensive effort, Central Bucks West pulled out an 8-3 victory over neighborhood archrival Central Bucks East 8-3 in Monday’s National Conference matchup.
Kendra Pitts made seven saves in a winning effort for the Bucks, who saw Olivia Barrett (6 draw controls) and Kamryn Brownlow (5 draw controls) performing their usual dominating efforts on draws.
Chloe Schrandt led the Bucks with three goals.
The Patriots turned in a solid defensive effort as well, anchored by goalie Lora Collins with 12 saves. Cece Hayes had two caused turnovers and six ground balls.

Central Bucks West coach Elena Romesburg: “It was a tough, physical game and we had a tough time shooting. East’s defense really played well and gritty and gave our offense a hard time. Chloe Schrandt led the way and did a great job dodging on the left wing.
“Our defense had the best game of their season starting with Kendra Pitts in goal who had an awesome day. Sofie Fitzmartin also played exceptionally and her communication and positioning were vital to shutting down East’s attack.”
Central Bucks East coach Kelly Tait:
“Tonight’s game didn’t go the way we had hoped, and we struggled to find our rhythm offensively. However, our defense delivered one of their strongest performances of the season. They truly worked as a unit, communicating well, locking off on their girls and shutting down a number of scoring drives. They came away with seven caused turnovers within the 8. Anchoring our defense with a fantastic game was goalkeeper Lora Collins, who came away with an impressive 12 saves.
Up next: East will visit Pennridge at 7 pm Wednesday. The Bucks will visit Central Bucks South at 7 pm Thursday.

Council Rock North 13, Central Bucks South 9
After falling behind early, Central Bucks South chipped away at Council Rock North’s lead to pull to within one goal at the end of three quarters. But the Indians pulled away in the fourth quarter to earn a 13-9 victory in Monday’s National Conference matchup.
Catherine McBride was all over the field for the Indians, racking up two goals, one assist, five draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Central Bucks South coach Janique Craig: “We battled all game and came out with a huge surge in the third quarter, scoring four unanswered goals to cut the deficit to just one. Despite the momentum swing, Council Rock North was able to regain control late in the fourth.”

Souderton 14, North Penn 12
After falling behind early, North Penn battled back to knot the game in the second quarter and trailed by one heading into the fourth quarter. But Souderton was able to hold off the Knights and pull out a dramatic 14-12 win in Monday’s National Conference game.
Carly Gavetti led the Indians with four goals and three assists. Nika Fulgineiti made nine saves in recording the win. Aly Hassett earned seven draw controls.
Maddie Gorman led North Penn with five goals and added four draw controls.

North Penn coach Ken Rodoff: “We fell behind 4-1 and then tied the game 6-6. We went into the fourth quarter down one, 12-11. Our transition worked well this evening, and our team defense did a solid job of communicating through switches, denying draw and dumps. A few too many unforced turnovers on our end led to too many goals for Souderton.
“Shout out to Souderton as they were attack-minded and deliberate with their feeds and quick stick shooting.”
—Props: “Maddie (Gorman) and Mila (Rogozinski) led the way for us. Maddie worked mostly on the circle today and was able to get four draw controls, and when on the circle, she was able to find Quinn. Mila, who played low attack today, really served as the spark for the entire team. Her energy, enthusiasm, confidence and talent are contagious, and she truly helped her teammates play with a similar level of energy and confidence.
“Shout out to Zoey Tiger, who jumped into goal after Caylynn had to come out. A league and local rivalry game like this is a tall order for Zoey to get her first varsity game experience.”

Pennridge 19, Pennsbury 6
Another dominant win for Pennridge, which took down Pennsbury 19-6 in Monday’s National Conference game. Nine different goal scorers for the Rams (5-0 SOL National, 9-3 overall) helped solidify another conference win.
Six different shooters in the first quarter was telling that this would be all Pennridge. Gianna Leuthe struck first with a goal and immediately followed with an assist to Megan Moylan for her first of the day. The Posey sisters connected for Madigan’s first of the day, assisted by Harper. Emma Gall and Harper Posey were next, with both scoring off 8m drives. Leuthe put up her third point of the night on an assist to Kayla Verespy. Verespy and Leuthe led the team with 6 points each. Madigan closed out the quarter with the Rams’ seventh goal of the night.
Moylan got the second quarter started with her second of the night. Gall was next off another 8m drive as she put up her second. Leuthe notched her second goal less than a minute later. Kayla Verespy put up her second goal, then had back-to-back assists on goals by Colbie Landherr and Marley Ambruch. The Rams were up 13-3 at half and were ready to keep rolling.
In the third, Landherr scored her second off a Leuthe assist. Leuthe closed her scoring with one last goal, assisted by Kayla Verespy. Verespy assisted another to Madigan Posey. Paige Cowper scored off a crease roll with 2 minutes remaining. Marley Ambruch closed the scoring in the third with a goal off a Madigan Posey assist. Madigan Posey capped the scoring with the only Pennridge goal in the final quarter.

Very happy to secure another conference win as we prepare to enter the most intense chunk of our season. We have very strong conference opponents coming up and we are nothing but locked in. Our eyes are on another sole Suburban One Conference Title, and it’s going to take our best to get there.”

“Marley Ambruch did great tonight. She is a swing player for us and saw a ton of time in the mid rotation tonight. She played fearless and it was really great to see her having fun and taking risks out there.
“On the defensive end Nina Rotella and Lilly Blair split time and both came up with 2 saves. Jenna Verespy looked great tonight locking it down and coming up with 2 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers.”

Abington 14, Springfield Twp 4
Abington outscored Springfield Twp 7-0 over the middle two quarters to pull away for a 14-4 victory in Monday’s American Conference game.
Seven different players contributed to the scoring for Abington, with Katie Pennekamp scoring a team-leading three goals and Carly Hughes finishing with a game-high five points on two goals and three helpers. Cheyenne Fisher made 12 saves in the cage for the Ghosts.
Ella McLaughlin scored twice to lead the Spartans.

Abington team. They had some great fast breaks to goal and solid backer defense. Abington's goalie was a wall in the net, too. We need to play the whole game that way with no let-up. We had a stretch, early on, that set us back and we tried to climb out of the hole from there. Tough lesson to learn but some great learning points to work on from it.”
—Props: “Casen Powell did a great job for us on the draw today. She has continued to get better as the season has gone on, making adjustments and working through every game.
“Offense did well when we settled in and worked together as a team. Ella McLaughlin led the team with two goals and was finding great lanes and opportunities.
“I was proud of our defense as they made adjustments and really were solid at times … communicating and working well together. Stormii Schock-Sprague had some point-blank saves to help our defense.”

Megan Robinson made 11 saves to help lift Cheltenham to a 10-6 victory over Quakertown in Monday’s American Conference game.
Brianna Gardner led the Panthers with seven goals, eight ground balls, and eight draw controls.

Both our offensive and defensive ends played smart and stuck to the game plan, and it was really nice as a coach to see them bring not only energy but true cohesiveness. New Hope-Solebury 13, Hatboro-Horsham 4
New Hope-Solebury topped Hatboro-Horsham 13-4 in Monday’s American Conference game with several of its players reaching milestones.
Lions' goalie Valerie Segler recorded her 300th career save, and Emersyn Thistlewaite reached the 100 career draws milestone.
Addy Weisbrot's six caused turnovers and three ground balls led the defense.
Cora Saxer played a standout role for the Hatters, scooping up six ground balls and causing five turnovers.

Plymouth Whitemarsh picked up the rare shutout, blanking Lower Moreland 16-0 in Monday’s dominating American Conference victory.
The Colonials led 7-0 after one quarter and built a 12-goal lead at halftime.
Grace Harvey led the Colonials with four goals and two assists.
