COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 10, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 8
It was another spirited battle between the neighboring rivals, and when the dust had settled, it was the Golden Hawks earning the hard-fought win.
The Hawks, who led 4-2 after one quarter, went into halftime with an 8-5 lead and held on for the win.
Camryn Brundage and Mia Geneles both finished with a hat trick to lead the Hawks. Gabby Terekhov anchored the defense in goal, finishing with 12 saves.

Council Rock South coach Marina Schreiner:
“The North vs. South game is always a fun very competitive game and today was no different. Today was a total team effort, and we were able to pull off the win. It came down to our defense playing extremely well. We were able to stop some of North’s very strong players from scoring on the drive to cage and came up with some big ground balls and turnovers.
--Props: “Sophia Smith came up with a huge turnover in the last few minutes of the game to solidify our lead. Our goalie, Gabby Terekhov, also had incredible saves today and reached a milestone of 200 saves.
“Offensively, we played well as a unit, and Camryn Brundage, Mia Geneles, Ella Mayberry and Gracie Murphy all had great drives and finishes on cage tonight. I’m very proud of my players for how they played tonight.”
Up next: Council Rock South will celebrate Senior Night when the Golden Hawks host Gwynedd Mercy in a non-league game next Wednesday.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 11, NESHAMINY 5
Kelly McDonald had a hand in six goals, scoring four and assisting on two others to lead the Titans to Wednesday’s conference win.
The two teams were deadlocked 5-5 in the third quarter, but the Titans reeled off six straight goals to earn the win.

Central Bucks South coach Janique Craig:
--The game: “We had a slow start today, and it took us a bit to find our rhythm, especially with the heat. As the game went on, we settled in and started to connect better on both ends of the field. Our shot placement wasn’t as sharp as it usually is, but I liked that we stayed aggressive and kept putting pressure on the cage.
“We weren’t as disciplined early as we typically are, and taking care of the ball in possession is something we’ll need to clean up. We had seven different goal scorers, which shows a really balanced offensive effort. It was great to see some players step up and make an impact. Moving forward, we need to come out strong, play a full game, and continue to build and improve.”
Neshaminy coach Laurie Smith:
--The game: “Despite the heat, we came out with our best effort of the season. We brought a 5-5 tie late into the third quarter against a strong Central Bucks South team. The girls played with energy and confidence on both sides of the field.
--Props: “Our defense played outstanding - especially senior captain Emily Hines and junior Calleigh Tvorak. Our goalie, junior Jess Reardon, had 12 saves. Leading the way offensively was senior captain Reese Merrill, who scored four goals and provided a key spark in crucial moments. Overall, I am extremely proud of the way this team played today.”
Up next: Central Bucks South will host North Penn on Thursday, and Neshaminy will host Hatboro-Horsham on Monday.
Non-league
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 18, ARCHBISHOP WOOD 8
The CB East girls lacrosse played tonight’s game in hopes of highlighting the Morgan’s Message organization – an organization that strives to strengthen student-athlete mental health and build a community by and for athletes through peer-to-peer conversations and provide a platform for advocacy. The girls dedicated tonight’s game to the memory of Morgan Rogers, a Duke lacrosse player who lost her life after her struggle with mental health issues and also the memories of two of their CBE classmates.
Paige Dougherty led the scoring for the Patriots tonight with 6 goals on 6 shots. Junior Brooke Breen also had a big night scoring five goals.
A pair of East players reached personal milestones. Cece Hayes recorded her 200th draw control while McKenna Lynch reached the 100-point milestone.

Central Bucks East coach Kelly Tait:
--The game: “I was really proud of how we played today. The refs were calling a very tight game, and both teams ended up with four yellow cards. We hit our four-card maximum in the third quarter, so we had to play a man down for the majority of the second half. Despite that, the girls did not get frustrated or flustered. They continued to play their game and did a great job keeping possession even when double teamed. Defensively we came up with 12 caused turn overs.
--Props: “Avery Stephenson really set the tone for the defensive unit. She’s one of our captains and kept a level head, kept everyone else calm and was all over the field transitioning the ball back to the attack. She led the defense with 3 caused turnovers.
“It was great to see Brooke (Breen) find the net so many times tonight. She always seems to get herself into the right spot at the right time but then the goal eludes her for some reason. Tonight, she and Cece Hayes were spot on with their work in front of the cage, Cece ended up with five assists, most of which were feeds to Brooke who had some pretty amazing shots to get the goal.
----Milestones: “Cece (Hayes) dominated on the draw circle tonight and came away with her 200th career draw control.
“In addition McKenna Lynch hit the 100-point milestone tonight with one goal and one assist. McKenna is such a consistent and reliable member of our attacking unit it is great to see her reach this milestone.”
Up next: Central Bucks East will be on the road at Souderton on Thursday.
