District 1 Class 2A quarterfinals
#10 HARRITON 8, #2 UPPER MORELAND 7
The Golden Bears opened up a 5-1 lead and took a 5-2 lead into halftime, but after a delay for a thunderstorm, Harriton had all the momentum, going on to earn the one-goal win.

Upper Moreland coach Kim Frantz:
“Lacrosse is about momentum. We had momentum leading into the end of the second quarter and had a lead 5-1 when a thunderstorm came and paused our game for over an hour. After that, we never were able to get momentum back again. Harriton was able to score three quick goals, making the momentum in their favor. We really struggled with winning the draws which was a big factor in the game.
“I am so proud of our seniors, they are off to do great things in the future. We wish Sophia Perrine, Ella Gould, Molly McCann, Maggie Brophy, Lily Dench, Aubrey Pomrink, Tierney Hogan, Mallory Serrano, and Sarah Hodum the absolute best. I couldn’t be more proud of this team, going into this season, we knew we graduated a lot, but they exceeded expectations and should be very proud of the season we had. Our defense played their hearts out, consisting of Keiley Hawk, Kendall Hurley, Madelyn Frantz, Bridget Hess, and Molly McCann.
“Our midfield played their hearts out at both ends. Leah King (led the team in forced turnovers), Madeline Cox, and Eva Gorrell (led the team in ground balls). Our attack - made up of Keira Hess, Sophia Perrine, Ella Gould, Maggie Brophy, and Kourtney Malone – was able to push the ball and work together with each possession. Overall they played a great game and things just didn’t fall our way in the second half.”
Upper Moreland closed out it season with a 15-5 record.

#6 WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 13, #3 SPRINGFIELD TWP 4
The Spartans saw their season end at the hands of visiting West Chester Rustin. Four players scored one goal each for the Spartans.

Springfield Twp coach Katrina Borzelleca:
“Tonight was a hard-fought game. We struggled to win the draw, and Rustin controlled the ball and had possession much more than we did. When you don’t have possession as much, every time down on the attacking end is critical. We didn’t capitalize as much as we should have – I felt that we didn’t get the looks and opportunities that we wanted because we were behind in the game, so we were trying to look for each other but inevitably forcing the ball.
“Tonight’s game didn’t go our way, but I’m so proud of the girls and their accomplishments this season. One game doesn’t define this team, and while it wasn’t the way we wanted to play and not the outcome we were hoping for, this team, this family, is something that the girls will never forget, and that is something much bigger than wins and losses.”
Springfield Twp closed out the season with an 11-7 record.
