The Thursday Night Game of the Week will not be broadcast on Prime Video with Al Michaels making the play-by-play call of the Eagles-Giants NFL game.

The Thursday Night Game of the Week for Suburban One League football fans will be played at Walt Snyder Stadium between SOL Continental Conference unbeatens Council Rock South and Souderton.

The host Golden Hawks and the visiting Indians have identical 6-1 overall records and are both 4-0 in the SOL Continental Conference.

The Council Rock South season resume has wins over Frankford (50-8), Pennsbury (20-6), Cheltenham (28-20), Upper Dublin (34-14), Bensalem (14-12), and Harry S Truman (42-7).  The lone loss came against North Penn, 21-14.

The Golden Hawks have scored an average of 28.9 points per game and has allowed an average of 12.6 points per game.

The Souderton season resume has wins over Spring-Ford (31-7), Central Bucks South (19-7), Harry S Truman (48-7), Quakertown (49-12), Cheltenham (35-0), and Bensalem (56-13).  The lone loss came against Central Bucks West, 13-0.

The Indians have scored an average of 34.0 points per game and have allowed an average of 8.4 points per game.

Prognosticators love to compare scores of common opponents – and that comparison would indicate a decided advantage to Souderton.

Souderton crushed Bensalem, 56-13, while CR South edged that same Owl team, 14-12.

Souderton administered a no-doubt-about-it 35-0 shutout win against Cheltenham, while CR South won a one-score game against that same Panther team, 28-20.

But we all know that games and not won or lost on past performance, and either the Golden Hawks or Indians will have to earn that victory on the field.

And CR South & Souderton will have to do so under those bright Thursday Night Lights @ Walt Snyder Stadium.

Pennridge Must ‘Run the Central Bucks Gaunlet’
Pennridge (7-0, 4-0) broke some Redskin fans hearts at Heartbreak Ridge last Friday as the Rams desperately held on for a 14-7 SOL National Conference victory over host Neshaminy (5-2, 3-1).

Pennridge remains unbeaten for the 2025 season and in addition to being alone at the top of the conference standings – the Rams are still the top ranked 6A team in all of District One.

The last time Pennridge was 7-0 was back in 1964 – 60 very long years ago.  The Rams finished that season under legendary head coach Wayne Helman with a perfect 10-0 mark.

Pennridge will more than have its hands full to match that 10-0 mark this season.  A trio of Central Bucks teams fill out the remainder of the 2025 regular conference season – and each team will present a difficult challenge for the Rams.

This week Pennridge will face an excellent Central Bucks West (5-2, 3-1) team at iconic War Memorial Field in Doylestown this Friday.   The Bucks only losses have been at the hands of unbeaten [7-0] Easton (26-20) & Neshaminy (28-18).

And the Rams will close the season with two home games against a good Central Bucks East (5-2, 2-2) team and defending conference champion Central Bucks South (3-4, 2-2).

No easy task – but then no task is easy in the Suburban One League National Conference.

How about those Golden Bears?
Upper Moreland (5-2, 2-0) is unbeaten in the SOL American Conference and is tied with Plymouth Whitemarsh in first place.

The Golden Bears opened the conference schedule with a pair of impressive victories.  The Purple & Gold opened the conference season with a 41-7 victory over Springfield and followed with a 44-7 win over William Tennent.

Upper Moreland will have an enormous challenge this week as the Golden Bears will be on the road to visit explosive Wissahickon (6-1, 1-1). 

The Trojans lost for the first time last week in a 33-27 overtime loss to 4-time defending SOL American Conference champion Plymouth Whitemarsh (4-3, 2-0).

Pennridge remained unbeaten with a gritty 14-7 conference victory over Neshaminy @ Heartbreak Ridge.  The Rams trailed 7-0 at the end of the first quarter, but William Dougherty scored to on a TD run to knot the score @ 7-7.  Noah Keating scored what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in the third quarter.  Chase Clontz came up with a key interception in the endzone late in the game to secure the victory.
Central Bucks West prepped for its showdown with the Rams with a 17-7 conference victory over winless Pennsbury.  Josh George threw two touchdown passes – one to Jack Wilson – to spark the offense.  Mason Darrows added a 31-yard field goal for the winners.

Last Week:
Neshaminy lost a key conference game to unbeaten Pennridge, 14-7.  The lone score of the game for the Redskins came in the first quarter on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Michael Eckart to Brock Williams.
Central Bucks East routed Abington, 49-7.  Hunter Pulford tossed a touchdown pass to Sammy Piszel and scored on a TD run.  Mike Bova threw a touchdown pass to Cole Wojnicki, while Asher Green scored on 2 touchdown runs.  Chase Ingram & Joe O’Leary also scored rushing touchdowns for the winners.

North Penn Knights (5-2, 2-2) @ Pennsbury Falcons (0-7, 0-4)

Last Week:
North Penn remained in the hunt for a conference title with a 28-7 victory over Central Bucks South.  Matt Bucksar fired 2 touchdown passes – one to Cameron Mainor – and the other to Matt Pownall.  Bucksar & Rylei Gray also scored rushing touchdown for the Knights.
Pennsbury remained winless as the Falcons lost to Central Bucks West, 17-7.  The lone score of the game for Pennsbury came on a 4^th quarter touchdown pass from Jack Arndt to Dante Sciolla.  The Falcons have scored just 37 points in their 7 losses combined this season.

Central Bucks South Titans (3-4, 2-2) @ Abington Ghosts (1-6, 0-4)

Last Week:
Central Bucks South struggled offensively in a 28-7 loss to North Penn.  The lone score of the game for the Titans came on a 4^th quarter 13-yard touchdown run by Colin White.  CB South trailed 14-0 @ the half and 28-0 going into the 4^th quarter.
Abington continued to struggle both offensively and defensively as the Ghosts were routed by Central Bucks East, 49-7.  Abington averted a shutout with a 4^th quarter touchdown.  In its 4 conference games combined, the Ghosts have been outscored by a staggering 231-42.

Souderton Indians (6-1, 4-0) @ Council Rock South Hawks (6-1, 4-0)

Last Week:
Souderton prepped for its showdown with CR South with a 56-13 rout of Bensalem.  Ben Walsh fired 2 touchdown passes – one to Hunter Smeltz – and the other to Trent Clemmer.  Mike McCormick, JoJo Sudi, Caleb Moyer, Timmy Meehan, Jared Higginbotham, & Noah Porter all scored rushing touchdowns for the Big Red.
Council Rock South prepped for its showdown with Souderton with a 42-7 rout of Harry S Truman.  The offense was sparked by 2 touchdown runs by Brody Walker in the first half, and 2 touchdown receptions in the second half – one by Nate Szydlik – and the other by Joey Madara.

Upper Dublin Cardinals (3-4, 3-1) @ Cheltenham Panthers (2-5, 1-4)

Last Week:
Upper Dublin scored over 40 points for the second week in a row as the Flying Cardinals soared to a 42-28 victory over Quakertown.  Sophomore George Stein rushed for over 200 yards and scored 3 touchdowns, while Lawson Tyler fired 3 touchdown passes.  Kevin Williams caught 2 touchdown aerials, while Benji Ravitz also caught a TD pass.
Cheltenham captured its first conference win with a 51-12 victory over winless Council Rock North.  The season resume for the Panthers includes a 38-29 non-conference win over Neshaminy.

Quakertown Panthers (3-4, 2-2) @ Harry S Truman Tigers (1-6, 1-3)

Last Week:
Quakertown received an outstanding game from quarterback Brady Martin, however, the Panthers lost to Upper Dublin, 42-28.  Martin threw 3 touchdown passes – 2 to James Wehrheim – and the other to Carter Tucholski.  Jackson Connelly added a rushing touchdown for Q-town.
Harry S Truman struggled on both sides of the ball in a 42-7 loss to Council Rock South.  The lone win for the Tigers this season came in a 20-7 win over Council Rock North.

Bensalem Owls (3-4, 1-3) @ Council Rock North Indians (0-7, 0-4)

Last Week:
Bensalem was routed by Souderton, 56-13.  Aidan Mayfield scored 2 touchdowns for the Owls – one on a kickoff return – and the other on a pass from Myles Annan.
Council Rock North remained winless as the Indians were defeated by Cheltenham, 51-12.  CR North has been outscored 256-53 so far this season.

Upper Moreland Golden Bears (5-2, 2-0) @ Wissahickon Trojans (6-1, 1-1)

Upper Moreland prepped for its showdown with Wissahickon with a 44-7 conference victory over William Tennent.  Quarterback David Adamski fired 3 touchdown passes for the Golden Bears – 2 to Larry Hughes – and another to Travis Quirk.  Upper Moreland had rushing touchdowns from Justin Valentin, Elijah Davis & Jerry Zabalou.
Wissahickon lost for the first time this season in a 33-27 overtime loss to Plymouth Whitemarsh.  Tyree Chambers rushed for 96 yards and scored 3 touchdowns, while Evan Tolmie passed for 192 yards that included a scoring pass to Dom Harvey-Sheppard.  The Trojans had 354 yards of total offense.

Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials (4-3, 2-0) @ Springfield Spartans (3-3, 0-2)

Last Week:
Plymouth Whitemarsh captured a key conference victory as the Colonials marched to a 33-27 overtime win Wissahickon.  Quarterback Cole Reilly scored a rushing touchdown in the overtime to secure the win.  Reilly rushed for 136 yards and scored 2 touchdowns, while Mike Gianguilo rushed for 231 yards on 28 carries and scored 2 touchdowns.  PW collected 406 yards of total offense in the victory.
Springfield lost for the third week in a row as the Spartans were defeated by Hatboro Horsham, 34-14.  Springfield was tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Spartans opened the season with 3 wins.  Springfield has been outscored 75-21 in its 2 conference losses.

William Tennent Panthers (1-6, 0-2) @ Hatboro Horsham Hatters (1-6, 1-1)

Last Week:
William Tennent remained winless in the conference with a 44-7 loss to Upper Moreland.  The Panthers have been outscored 79-7 in their 2 conference losses.
Hatboro Horsham won for the first time this season as the Hatters topped Springfield, 34-14. Hatboro led 21-7 at the close of the first half. Senior Ty Teasley was the offensive catalyst with 331 yards rushing and four touchdowns.
