Conference championships should be the ultimate prize in the Suburban One League – championship banners are not hung in high school gymnasiums for making the District One playoffs.
Pennridge, Council Rock South, & Plymouth Whitemarsh all earned outright conference championships in 2025 – a season that might have been the most competitive at the top of the standings in recent SOL
memory.
Pennridge (6-1 conference, 9-1 overall) captured the SOL National Conference title last week with a 28-7 victory over defending conference champion Central Bucks South. It was the first conference title for the Rams since 2020.
Council Rock South (7-0, 9-1) captured the SOL Continental Conference title last week with a 49-0 victory over neighborhood rival Council Rock North. It was the first conference title for the Golden Hawks since 2011.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (5-0, 7-3) captured the SOL American Conference title last week with a 42-15 victory over William Tennent. The Colonials – who are moving ‘up’ to the SOL Continental Conference next season – are the 5-time defending conference champion.
And now Pennridge, Council Rock South, & Plymouth Whitemarsh can turn their collective focus on the upcoming PIAA 6A District One playoffs.
But regardless of the outcome in the playoffs, there is no diminishing the fact that the Rams, Golden Hawks, & Colonials are all 2025 champions.
