CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0
Two minutes.
That’s all it took for the Bucks to break open a scoreless game, scoring two third-quarter goals. Their defense held the Titans off the scoreboard to earn a 2-0 field hockey victory in the SOL opener for both squads.
Lucy Smith scored the game’s first goal on a penalty corner with 9:07 remaining in the third quarter. Brynn Schoenleber added a goal less than two minutes later to double West’s advantage.
West’s defense protected the lead throughout the fourth quarter, with Laney Hall recording a defensive save to help preserve the shutout.

--The game: “Tonight was a whole-team effort to earn the hard-fought win against a feisty, talented CB South team. We are still growing as a team; players are moving lines 
and sides of the field to try and figure out our best formation.
“The team is improving each day to help us with our goal of another successful season.”
Central Bucks South coach Steph Bardell:
--The game: “Three solid quarters of hockey were played tonight by CB South. We would love to have three minutes of hockey back. But we never lose, it's always a learn. We learned what worked for us, we learned where the breakdown happened, and we learned to bounce back. We didn't stop until that final buzzer, and getting a final shot on goal in the last ten seconds proved we weren't going down without a fight.
“Solid game for two strong teams with each team having opportunities. They were able to capitalize on theirs; we will be looking forward to the next game in our stadium. “
--Props: “Our defensive unit in front of our keeper was solid to hold the attack of West. Shoutout to Grace Helsel, Sophia Kraft and Hailey Finn for controlling our third of the field and moving the ball out quickly.”
Up next: Central Bucks West will host Pennridge on Thursday (7pm), and Central Bucks South is off until Wednesday, Sept. 9, when the Titans will host Central Bucks East.

WISSAHICKON 12, HARRY S TRUMAN 1
Thirteen different players contributed to 12 goals with Carly Lehman’s hat trick leading the offensive charge in a contest that saw the Trojans score early and often.
“Overall, this was a great team effort from start to finish, and I am looking forward to building on this momentum moving forward,” Wissahickon coach Hannah Havrilla said.

--The game: “Wow, what a team win today! I am so proud of the girls for playing together, utilizing our give-and-goes, and executing everything we talked about after the last game. It was great to see the depth in our scoring today, with goals coming from our backs, midfielders, and forwards. This was a true team win and a great way to start the week after a tough loss.”
--Props: “I would like to recognize Carly Lehman for recording a hat trick. She is such a threat in the circle and naturally seems to attract the ball. Carly is a huge workhorse for our upperclassmen group, and we are so lucky to have her. I would also like to recognize Abby Smith for scoring her first Varsity goals of the season, finishing with 2 goals and 2 assists. You can really see that the work she has been putting in at practice is paying off. She wants it, and it shows.
“Shoutouts to Marianna Martin, Sylvia Lampron, and Siena Le. These defensive-minded players showed they can be just as aggressive in the circle and put the ball in the back of the net. Another shoutout goes to Annabel Roark for scoring 2 goals as well. Annabel scored our first goal of the season against CB East and has come a long way since last year. She is already proving to be an offensive threat, and I am excited to see where this season takes her.”

QUAKERTOWN 9, PHOENIXVILLE 0
For the second time in as many games, the Panthers put on an impressive offensive display, this time erupting for three goals in the opening minutes of Monday’s non-league game and rolling to the lopsided win. They have outscored their opponents 14-1 in their 2-0 start.
Sunny Draper led the Panthers with four goals and an assist while Paige Longacre added a hat trick.
“This program continues to set the standard, and the team will look to carry this momentum onto the road as they open up league play against Upper Dublin tomorrow,” Quakertown coach Peach Draper said.

--The game: “Driven by the desire to avenge last year's season-opening loss, the squad hit the field against Phoenixville with something to prove and set the tone immediately. The offense exploded right out of the gate, burying three quick goals in the first four minutes of play to build an early lead. Sunny Draper led the charge with a standout four-goal performance and an assist, while Paige Longacre poured in three goals of her own. Cassidy Landis and Cadence Jozefowski each added a goal to round out the scoring, fed by crisp assists from Penny Longacre, Sunny Draper, and Cameron Landis.”
--Props: “The victory was a complete team effort highlighted by precise passing and exceptional execution on penalty corners. On the defensive end, incredible goalkeeper Darcy Baxter stood tall in net, supported by Penny Longacre and Cameron Landis who anchored a relentless back line alongside Emily Reese and Blaire Mora.”

Kennett’s Margo Schwarz scored a pair of goals in the opening minutes of Monday’s non-league contest. The Cards’ defense tightened the rest of the way against a strong Blue Demon squad, but they never could generate an offensive attack.
