COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 5, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2
In a battle of neighboring rivals, it was Council Rock South earning the hard-fought win. Lily Krepich’s two-goal effort led the Hawks while Ava Leonetti, Mia Schink and Macie Schmidt each added a goal.

NESHAMINY 3, PENNSBURY 2
The Redskins clinched a share of their eighth straight division crown, notching a road win over the Falcons in Monday’s rivalry game. They hold a two-game lead with just two games remaining.
Neshaminy never trailed, opening up a 1-0 lead when Hailey Wert scored with an assist from Mia Brooks during corner play in the first quarter. The Skins upped their lead to 2-0 when Maci Fox scored on a breakaway, but the Falcons cut that lead in half with a goal from Mallory Harrison to make it a 2-1 game at halftime.
Fox scored her second goal on a tip of a shot by Mia Brooks to give the Skins a 3-1 lead heading into the final quarter.
Pennsbury’s Leila Curtis scored with eight minutes remaining to make it a one-goal game, but the Redskins held on for the win.

--On the game: “I thought we did a nice job of just staying in control. We came out strong and were able to score. Even when Pennsbury came back, I thought we were playing well enough that we were in control. When they scored, we just went back and scored again. At the end, we did give up a couple of corners, but defensively, we played strong. I thought we played smart, the girls were composed. I thought we would have more chances to score throughout the game, but we just weren’t able to. Overall, I thought we controlled the majority of the game. The girls played hard.”
--A resilient group: “This is a group that – we have our highs and lows throughout games, but so far this season, we’ve been able to bounce back. After having a loss, we don’t get down – we work harder. We go back to our basic things and things that we’re good at, and we’re good at hustling, we’re good at putting pressure on. We lost on Friday, but we came out today and played really hard. Hats off to the girls for that.
“(Earlier this season), Wissahickon wasn’t our best game, and we came out and won the next day. The same thing with CB West – we lost, and we came back out and won again. We lose some tough games, but it doesn’t stop us.”
--Props to the defense: “Our goalie, Lexi Tarapchak, played well. She’s an aggressive goalie, and today, she was coming out strong, made great saves.
“Taylor Tenaglia is a quiet leader back there. She really sets the tone with how she plays every game. She’s just strong, she’s composed, she’s smart, she does a great job carrying the ball out of the back and just reading the plays.
“Our other defenders too – Reese Merrill is consistent and has been consistent all year. She plays well, she plays smart, and today Hailey Wert also stepped up. She’s playing good, smart defense, moving her feet, and she was able to score our first goal off a corner, which was good.”
--More props: “Maci Fox played well. She scored two goals, and they were good goals. They were things that we’ve been working on. Her first goal in the second quarter – she scored using her speed, eliminating a defender and placing the ball in the corner, which is something we’ve been working on all year. The third goal – it was just cutting to the ball, getting her stick on the ball and being able to finish. Things we’ve been working on worked out today.
“Mia Brooks consistently has worked hard as a forward. Even though she didn’t score today, she generated a lot of offense – she had a hand in two of our goals with assists, but she definitely has become a threat in the league. People have come to know her and pick up where she is on the field, but that’s because she’s generated so much offense through the season. She played well today too.”

The full moon rose over the visitor stands at Falcon Field on Monday night, a giant glowing ball that made many stop and pause at the sight. It was a gorgeous night for field hockey and the perfect setting for this October showdown between the Falcons and the Skins.
When they met one month ago, Neshaminy squeaked by with the win, 2-1, leaving Pennsbury hungry for when they would meet again. The time separating the two games felt like an eternity, but it was finally here. The weight of the game hung in the air, an unspoken layer - with a Neshaminy win, the Skins would be one step closer to clinching the SOL and with a Pennsbury win, the Falcons would be one step closer to sharing a piece of the SOL title.
No one likes to share when it comes to titles and Neshaminy made sure it won't happen, as they walked away with a 3-2 victory in what proved to be another great battle.
Pennsbury came out the gates with power and earning two penalty corners in a row in the first minute. The Skins denied the opportunity with strong defense and sent a message that this would be a fight for the full sixty. Neshaminy answered with two penalty corners and connected on one of their set plays with a shot and deflection to put the red and blue up 1-0 halfway through the first quarter.
"Our goalie misplayed the corner shot and did not have a strong save, so it got through her feet and Neshaminy's Hailey Wert, who inserted, was right at the post to deflect the ball," said PHS coach, Traci Curtis.
The rest of the quarter was played between the 25s with stats matching up between the two teams and the score holding 1-0.
The second quarter continued to be a back-and-forth fight of skill, strength, speed, and opportunity. Five minutes into the quarter, Neshaminy found another moment to capitalize and put the Skins up 2-0.
"Unfortunately, we got caught in another defensive breakdown and it cost us again,” Curtis said. “Maci Fox beat our defender, dribbled into the circle with tons of space and took a shot from right to left. Our goalie wasn't properly set and was beaten in that moment on a pretty straight forward shot.
"We have not been down in too many games this season, but when it has happened, we have found ways to push and persevere and that's what the girls dug in and did for the remaining ten minutes of the first half."
With two minutes left in the half, Pennsbury made things very interesting and turned it into a one-goal game.
"Ryan Burdette started a quick free hit possession in the midfield and worked the ball into the circle, feeding it to goal,” Curtis said. “Abby Iacona received the rebound off the pads, passed back out to Regan Rodriguez, who took a quick shot and Mallory Harrison timed a beautiful deflection perfectly. It was a great teamwork moment and proved what we are made of.”
When the horn sounded for halftime, the stadium was electric, and the Falcons were on fire.
Pennsbury had possession at the start of the second half, and in the first two minutes, earned three penalty corners in a row, putting pressure on full tilt.
"We certainly did not take advantage of the opportunities we had. We worked so hard to earn the advantage and get the set piece and then we misplayed all three corners," explained Curtis. "We cannot give up those chances against a team like Neshaminy and make it ten times harder for ourselves. It's hard enough.”
It was a 2-1 game going into the five-minute halftime.
The start of third quarter was a repeat of the second quarter for the Falcons. Five minutes in, Neshaminy's Maci Fox, widened the lead by picking up a ball that got through the defense and reverse dumping it right past the PHS goalie.
"It was like a carbon copy of their second goal and extremely frustrating to watch happen, not once, but twice," stated Curtis. "Fox made a heads up play and took advantage of another moment when our defense was not in a solid state."
The Skins led 3-1 with ten minutes left in the third quarter. The rest of the third belonged to Neshaminy as they earned some corners and had more possessions, stifling Pennsbury's chances to dig out of the 3-1 hole.
As the final quarter loomed, the Falcons were not shaken. They knew that fifteen minutes was forever, and they could claw their way back into the game. Halfway through the fourth they did just that.
"Regan Rodriguez had a great stick down, plow to the ball moment picking up the rebound off of a Neshaminy stick,” Curtis said. “She barreled right past the defender and had a breakaway to goal. It was basically a two vs. goalie as Rodriguez passed to Harrison on the left, but the Skins' goalie read the play well and broke up the chance to shoot. But the play didn't stop there - Iacona got the rebound off the pads and reversed a beautiful shot right back at the goalie. The goalie made another strong save, but Harrison was back on pads trying to get creative because the keeper was down.
“Harrison took a few good shots, and the keeper had multiple saves in a row until she cleared the ball past Harrison only to find Leila Curtis waiting toward the top of the circle. Curtis fired a strong push onto goal while the keeper was trying to get back on her feet and it had just enough power to get by a defender trying to make a defensive save.”
The Falcons were back within one with about eight minutes left to play. The game was nowhere near over. The ball was in Pennsbury's scoring circle for a majority of the remaining time as they earned multiple corners leading up to a Falcon timeout with about 2 1/2 minutes left to play.
"We were dominating possession for a solid amount of time and just had to figure out a way to even the score. We are so confident in our overtime crew, we were hoping to get there," said Curtis.
The black and orange earned another corner coming off the timeout, and the excitement was palpable. Two more corners followed for PHS, but the ball just wasn't rolling their way.
"It was amazing to watch our girls continue to fight and earn those set pieces into the final minutes of the game,” Curtis said. “We dug into our arsenal of plays and did our best to be creative and to execute at a high level. I think we did an awesome job of never giving up and playing to the bitter end.”
The stats were pretty closely matched with each team earning eleven corners and PHS getting five more shots on goal than Nesh.
"This one will sting for a bit, but as we always do, we will break it down, take many powerful pieces from it, and prepare for the next step,” Curtis said. “It was a great high intensity, high level game and we are grateful for the privilege to be in that type of pressure situation. It only makes us stronger as players and as people."
Pennsbury will travel to Council Rock North on Wednesday to face them for the second time.
BENSALEM 9, HARRY S TRUMAN 0
The Owls celebrated Senior Night with a decisive win that saw the seniors playing starring roles with six of seven of them scoring and the seventh assisting on a goal.
Peyton DeCarlo’s first-quarter goal put the Indians on top 1-0, A three-goal second quarter sent the Owls into halftime with a 4-0 lead. They added five more goals in the second half on their way to the big win.
Mollie Reilly scored a pair of goals and assisted on another to lead the balanced Bensalem attack.

Bensalem coach Gary Kubik:
--On the game: “I'm so proud of everyone on this team tonight. It was about the seniors tonight and every single one of them stepped up and had fantastic games. It's not really all about scoring, but tonight we were able to accomplish both. Six of our seven seniors scored tonight and the seventh had an assist and played an incredible game at defensive back.”
--The first half: “It was great to see the whole team rally around our seniors to such a level. All of the underclasswomen were rooting on each senior as they tallied their goals. Senior Peyton DeCarlo started the seniors and the game off early in the first. Mollie Reilly scored two tonight, with her second assisted by senior Makayla Duncan, who played probably her best game of the year tonight at defensive back. Kylie Blank continued her scoring streak with a second assist on the night from sophomore Lily Lendzinski. Senior Lucciana Krecko had herself a night. She scored an unassisted goal with no time left in the first half. She sang a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem to start off the festivities. She played a very solid center back and sold the winning ticket to a gift card fundraiser that we pulled at halftime. Oh, and it was her birthday!
--The second half: “Senior Abby Kazimer started off the senior scoring in the second half with the second assist from Masciantonio at 11:37. Senior Ava Hood scored off a pass from fellow senior Keana Rodriguez. Then Rodriguez got her own from junior Mollie Reilly on a great feed. Finally, Masciantonio , who had been working hard all night with no goals to show for it, got one to the back of the cage as time expired. It was the most perfect, dramatic finish that I could have asked for.
“The Owls finished with 12 corners and nine goals. The Truman goalkeeper finished with 26 saves.
The Bensalem Owls goalkeeper, Hailey Fricke, finished with a shutout and lowered her goals-against average to 1.63.”

SOL Colonial Division
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 5, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0
Aida Ierubino scored three goals and assisted on another to lead the Bucks to a win that - with two games remaining - clinched at least a share of the SOL Colonial title.
Ierubino converted a penalty stroke with 8:20 remaining in the opening period to give the Bucks a lead they would not lose. Six minutes later, Lucy Smith scored – also on a penalty stroke.
Ierubino’s second-quarter goal sent the Bucks into halftime with a 3-0 lead, a score that stood until the fourth quarter when Ierubino connected on an unassisted goal and Ellie Tweddale (Ierubino assist) found the cage to close out the scoring.

Our defense held them and kept the score 3-0 until less than halfway in the fourth quarter when their relentless attack scored two more to make it 5-0. Nora McQueen in the goal tonight did a tremendous job, saving 11 of their 16 shots on goal. We tried a few new things tonight and we were so proud of the way they handled the changes.”

I’m really proud of the fact that Souderton is seeded so high in the district, and we were able to not only hang with them, but the game could have gone either way. Paige Shearer had a hand in four goals – scoring three and assisting on another – to lead the Knights to the decisive road win on Pennridge’s Senior Night.
The two teams were locked in a scoreless tie heading into the second quarter when Cara Albano (Shearer assist) scored two minutes into the frame. Shearer’s unassisted goal less than two minutes later was followed by the Rams only goal of the night by Deegan Smith.
In the third quarter, Cissy Lewis, Albano and Avery Hanrahan each scored a single goal, giving the Knights a 5-1 lead heading into the final quarter. Back-to-back goals by Shearer closed out the scoring.

--On the game: “Tonight we celebrated 13 student-athletes that dedicated their time the last four fall seasons to the Pennridge field hockey team. These seniors play with their hearts on their sleeve day in and day out. Although this is my first season with them, their impact will be felt in this program for the coming years. While tonight's outcome was not how we envisioned it, we have our sights set on finishing the season strong to earn the school's first District 1 field hockey postseason appearance since 2019.”

The Ghosts took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but the second half belonged to the Trojans. Sam Farno scored a pair of goals in the third quarter to put the Trojans on top 2-1. If they needed insurance, the Trojans got it in the fourth quarter when Ally Maier and Manika Ishi each scored a goal for the 4-1 final.

Gracie Kerns was the offensive catalyst for PW, finishing with three goals and one assist. Emily Dobrowolski added two goals and an assist.
Freshman Reese Smith scored her first varsity goal, and Sammy Callan also added a goal.

--On the game: “We had a rough afternoon at PW. We knew coming in that they were going to be tough. They always are. We had two-plus weeks of really good field hockey, and we hoped to build on that. The girls came out slow today and weren’t playing like they had been. You can’t give a team like PW anything but your best. The second half was better were tightened things up and has done good passing, but it just wasn’t enough.”
--Props: “Senior goalie Sydney Matthews played really well for us despite the score. Senior defender Madeline Lee was busy today getting the ball out of our end. Junior Annabelle Deacon tried to get us going a number of times, but PW was just quicker to the ball. We have two more games to right things and end the season on a high.”

Casey Rosenberger scored two goals and assisted on two others to lead the Panthers to the decisive win. Paige Longacre and Cassidy Landis both had a pair of assists for the Panthers, who received single goals from Cameron Landis, Emma Stalletti, Mya Pallone and Ella Metz.

--On the game: “An outstanding all-around team win today, with everyone making an impact. Casey Rosenberger led the charge with two goals and two assists, showing off her impressive one-on-one skills and unselfish playmaking, constantly creating scoring opportunities for her teammates.
“Defender Cameron Landis got things rolling early, finishing a perfectly executed corner from her big sister, who delivered a powerful drive from the top. Cassidy and Paige were instrumental in the attack, each dishing out two assists with great vision. Freshman Mya Pallone netted her first varsity goal, while sophomore Ella Metz and Senior Emma Stalletti each added one to cap off the strong offensive performance. --On the game: “In the first quarter, Cheltenham came to play. It took us a few minutes to get going, and Cheltenham did a good job pressuring in the circle.
“Melissa Torpey had her hand in every goal today. In the second quarter, Torpey sent a pass across to Ella Gould, who lifted a beautiful goal into the top of the cage. We have been working on lifted shots, and this was a perfect one by Gould.
“Then in the second half, recovering after receiving an opposing stick in her chin, Torpey went back in the game and scored two goals in the fourth quarter.
“On UM’s third goal, Bridget Hess took a hard shot from the top of the circle. We love her to get involved in the scoring, since she was moved to a more defensive position this season. But with a new lineup, she has moved to her midfield position where she has more opportunities to score and assist. Bridget is so tough on defense but also makes great passes in our offensive zone. She is only a 10th grader but is a natural at seeing opportunities ahead of her and communicates well with her teammates.
“The third goal was a hard shot by Ella Gould and Melissa Torpey picked up the rebound off the goalie and put it back in.”
Getting defensive: “Tierney Hogan made some great saves finishing the game with 10 saves to preserve the shutout. Addi Gans, Abby Kelly and Lyla Soleau were tough on defense to not allow any goals.”
--Props: “Reese Purcell got the game ball for playing hard at defensive mid. In her new position, she was well positioned and was a wall in the middle, sending the ball back up to the attack, throughout the game.”
Upper Moreland’s Melissa Torpey: “Playing in the grass was an adjustment for sure. After getting hurt in the second quarter and being out for a few minutes, I wanted to come back and be better than before. Our team’s chemistry and communication helped to put me in perfect position to tip Bridget’s shot and rebound Ella’s shot.”

NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 5, LOWER MORELAND 0
Olivia Conte scored two goals and assisted on another, leading New Hope-Solebury to a win that – with two league games remaining - clinched at least a share of the SOL Freedom Division.
Conte scored the game’s first goal just over three minutes into the game, and four minutes later, Conte set up a goal by Gabi Soli. The host Lions took that 2-0 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, Abby Varghese connected on a pair of goals, and Conte’s unassisted goal gave New Hope-Solebury its final margin of victory, 5-0.

Springfield Township field hockey earned a solid win over William Tennent, setting the pace early with strong play in the first two quarters.
The Spartans maintained steady control throughout the game, backed by standout performances from Molly McGuckin and Emmy Rutkowski, who helped drive Springfield’s attack. William Tennent continued to battle hard to the final whistle, showing resilience against a consistent Springfield offense.
The Spartans took 20 shots on goal and drew four penalty corners. Their goalkeeper recorded seven saves.
