District 1 3A quarterfinals
#9 NORTH PENN 3, #1 WISSAHICKON 1 (20-25, 25-16, 26-24, 25-17)
The Knights pulled off an upset of the Trojans, rallying to win three straight sets after dropping the first set.
The Trojans started strong and took the first set. However, after the Knights got used to their pace, they took control in set two. The third set, the Knights started the game slow and found 
themselves trailing by five, but with the strong serves of Aaron DeSantis and key blocks from Logan Krider, the Knights were able to even it up at 23-23, and DeSantis later closed the set with a solo block. The Knights took over the fourth set and never looked back.
On the other side of the court, the top-seeded Trojans saw their season came to an end, falling to the Knights for the first time this season.
“The Knights were the better team tonight and were determined to earn the victory through excellent team defense,” Wissahickon coach Mitch Harris said. “The Trojans will look to build on this year's success with a promising group of underclassmen next year.”
Leading the way for the Trojans was four-year varsity starter and senior captain Reed Harris, who finished his stellar high school career tallying 1,003 kills and 1,069 assists. For the game, Harris had a triple-double with 16 kills, 16 assists, 12 digs and 2 blocks.
Senior captain Jonas Sabia had 12 kills, 13 assists, 13 digs and 1 block. Senior Captain Justin Pak tallied six kills, four blocks, two assists and 10 digs, and senior libero Keath McKelvey had 23 digs and one assist.
By the numbers: North Penn: The Knights offense was run by Sam Kim (33 assists, one ace and 12 digs) and Liam Jeffers (16 assists and 8 digs). Daniel Arskiy had a stellar performance, leading the offense with 16 kills, two blocks and five digs. Logan Krider also made his presence felt on the net, adding 12 kills and three blocks. Quinn Clarkson also added 12 kills and six digs Kyle Park contributed eight kills and one dig. Aaron DeSantis played a key role in the middle, finishing the night with five kills, two blocks, two aces and one dig. Max Webb added three kills, one block and 5fivedigs. The defense was led by Prithvi Patel with 28 digs and four assists.
Wissahickon: Reed Harris (16 kills, 16 assists, 12 digs, 2 blocks), Jonas Sabia (12 kills, 13 assists, 13 digs, 1 block), Justin Pak (6 kills, 4 blocks, 2 assists, 10 digs). Keath McKelvey (23 digs, 1 assist)
Up next: North Penn will face fifth-seeded Spring-Ford, which bounced William Tennent from the tournament. Spring-Ford defeated 13th-seeded William Tennent on Thursday.
#7 CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, #2 PENNRIDGE 0 (38-36, 25-15, 25-18)
The Titans eked out a win in a marathon first set and went on to win the next two, sending perennial district power Pennridge home for the season. Pennridge – once again without all-state senior Logan Jasolinski (injury) - joined the tournament’s other top four seeds as all four suffered season-ending losses.
For the Titans, Javi Robayo set the tone with 32 assists and 10 digs. The Titans had three hitters with double-digit kills: Max Zagnojny (16 kills, 3 blocks), Jake Wullert (12 kills, 9 digs) and Ionnis Chios (12 kills). Michael Wang controlled the back court with 22 digs.
By the numbers: Pennridge: Owen Smith (34 assists, 3 kills, 4 digs), Travis Haggerty (13 kills), Marin Hartzel (10 kills, 4 digs, 2 blocks), Chase Shollenberger (6 kills, 12 digs), Evan Wiley (5 kills), Bryce Watson (3 kills), Logan Wint (14 digs), Micah Roth (6 digs), Reed Wagner (4 digs).
Central Bucks South: Javi Robayo (32 assists, 10 digs), Max Zagnojny (16 kills, 3 blocks), Jake Wullert (12 kills, 9 digs), Iionnis Chios (12 kills), Michael Wang (22 digs)
Up next: Central Bucks South will face #6 Neshaminy in a district semifinal Tuesday. Pennridge closed out its season with a 15-3 record overall. The Rams were 14-2 and earned a share of the SOL American Conference title.
#6 NESHAMINY 3, #14 CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2 (25-21, 25-16, 20-25, 19-25, 15-9:
Central Bucks West didn’t look the part of the 14th seed.
The Bucks dropped the first two sets of Thursday’s match but rallied to win the next two, extending the Redskins to the limit before falling 3-2 in a grueling match.

Up next: Neshaminy will host #7 Central Bucks South in Tuesday’s district semifinal. Central Bucks West closed out its season with a 12-10 record overall (7-9 SOL).
