Patriot Division
Neshaminy 7, Bensalem 3
Neshaminy made the necessary adjustments to play on Bensalem’s grass field and came away with a 7-3 victory over the host Owls.
Monty Jawawdeh – who opened the scoring just 20 seconds into the game – and Zach Hargraves each scored two first-half goals for Neshaminy. Jaxson Flannery and Nick Kania each had a goal and an assist.
Chase Esposito scored all three goals for Bensalem, his third hat trick in the last three games.

Neshaminy coach Tom Foley:
—The game: "It was kind of a positive/negative for our guys that Bensalem has a really nice grass field, but it plays really slow, so we were kind of apprehensive about when to go in for a tackle and when not to go in for a tackle, so we got caught in no-man's land, and Chase Esposito is a nice player, and he certainly made us pay when we were indecisive.
"It helped us with long diagonal balls because it's a narrow field. The grass held it up, and we were able to run on and get behind their defense a lot, and we had several balls from the end line served across for easy tap-in goals, which is exactly what we want to do.
"Overall, it was a good showing for our group. We got much-needed confidence getting goals in the back of the net. It's kind of been a dry spell for us so far, and Bensalem put us under enough pressure where we got to understand we've got to clean some things up and pay attention to the better players and know when to tackle and not tackle.
"We got everybody on the roster into the game for at least 20 minutes, which was another positive. So, all in all, it was a really good day for us. We play Germantown Academy on Thursday, and hopefully, we can continue that trend."
—Props: "It was a really good game for Jaxson Flanner, who got a goal and assist for his first two varsity points, which was good for him."
Bensalem coach Kevin Bock:
--The game: “We came into this game knowing that we were going to get a great effort from Neshaminy. They seemed to be playing well but were not getting the results they wanted. We had the opening tap and went forward. We turned the ball over, Neshaminy countered and played a ball across that our defender tried to clear, but it deflected off their forward and into the net to put us down 1-0 less than a minute in. That set the scene for what turned into a frenetically played, fast-paced game throughout.
“Our boys responded with a goal of our own when Brandon Bock slotted a ball through for Chase Esposito to score. We then exchanged goals with Neshaminy going up 2-1, us getting one back to tie it on another goal from Chase and again assisted by Brandon, and then Neshaminy going back up 3-2. Neshaminy got another one just before the half to take a 4-2 lead.
—On the second half: “We needed a goal early in the second half to set the tone for any potential comeback, and we got exactly that when Chase completed his third consecutive hat trick with a penalty shot goal following a handball in the box. We were putting pressure on them but had a miscue on a ball played back to the keeper, which Neshaminy was able to intercept and score on. We lost a bit of composure after that and ended up losing 7-3. While not the result we wanted, we will learn from this and look to get back at it tomorrow.”
Up next: Neshaminy will visit nonleague opponent Germantown Academy at 4 pm Thursday. Bensalem will visit Cheltenham for an SOL crossover game at 3:30 pm Thursday.

Pennsbury 5, Council Rock South 2
Sami Awadalla scored three goals to power Pennsbury to a 5-2 road victory over Council Rock South in Tuesday’s Patriot Division game.
Awadalla scored the Falcons’ first two goals, then completed the hat trick with the team’s first goal after halftime, scored off the rebound of his own penalty kick.

Council Rock North started scoring early and never slowed down in a 10-0 romp over Harry S Truman in Tuesday's Patriot Division game.
Matt Brozyna and Max Henry each scored two goals to lead a spread-out North offense.

Central Bucks East 2, North Penn 1
Alden Iurato found the back of the net with one second left in the first half.
The Central Bucks East captain did it all for the Patriots in Tuesday’s 2-1 victory over Colonial Division opponent North Penn.
Flavio Grimaldi scored the Patriots’ second goal on a beautiful play. The Knights scored their only goal on a late penalty kick.

Central Bucks East coach Josh Isaacsohn: "It was a fairly close first half. I think we had some more opportunities on goal than they did, but I would say they owned a little more of the midfield than we would have liked, but we definitely left a couple out there that we should have put away.
"About two minutes into the second half, Flavio actually scored off an assist from our goalkeeper. It was a long ball to our forward, and he had a beautiful volley for a goal.
"Again, I think we had a little better of the play in the second half. They were tough, especially in the midfield. They had a couple of really big kids, and we kind of let down for a little bit. Then, unfortunately, with about a minute-and-a-half, we had a questionable PK call, but our guy's arm went up, and we pushed off a little bit. They scored a penalty kick with 1:20 left in the game."
—Props: "I just want to give props to Flavio for a beautiful goal and running really hard.
"I want to give a huge shout out to our captain Alden Iurato. He's just a workhorse, and he threw his body around, did everything he absolutely could to will this team today, and he's just been an incredibly responsible and hardworking young man. I'm just very, very proud to be coaching him."

Pennridge 3, Central Bucks West 3
Pennridge’s Sam Turco came up big with the Rams trailing Central Bucks West 3-1 in the second half on Tuesday, scoring a goal to bring the Rams back to within one goal.
Six minutes later, he came up even bigger. Turco converted a penalty kick in the 66th minute to knot the score at 3-3, and the Patriot Division foes would settle for the tie.
Max Petrella, Michael Rafalowski, and Julian Murphy each scored once for the Bucks.

Central Bucks West coach John Adair: "All in all, it was just a weird high school soccer game. On a positive note, I thought we showed some of our quality and scored three really great goals in the run of play. We dominated the run of play but conceded a few silly set pieces, and kudos to Pennridge for showing some character to dig themselves out of it. We need to be better and can be better.”
—Freshman steps up big: “We're a younger team that's having our fair share of ups and downs but I thought there were some good signs tonight, in particular our freshman Julian Murphy. For a younger player, he's so calm and unfazed by anything on the ball and especially in the crucial moments, playing the final pass or finishing in front of goal. A huge congrats to him on his first high school goal. I'm sure plenty more are coming his way."

The Titans finally enjoyed the comfort of a home match after opening the season with two exhibition games on the road followed by four consecutive league road contests. In a hard-fought battle, a first-half goal by CB South proved to be the difference, as the Titans secured a 1-0 victory.

“It was nice to finally be at home; however, this match was not my cup of tea. Outside of a 10-minute stretch in the first half where we played well by building out of the back, the rest of the
game was awful to watch and was the definition of insanity with us constantly just kicking the ball into the middle of the field and somehow expecting a different result. Credit to Souderton, who competed hard for every ball, stayed disciplined, and maintained their composure throughout the match. The performance gives us plenty to learn from as we continue to grow and improve as a team.”

Max Vollman: “Max led the team tonight with an impressive 11 kilometers covered. After earning JV MVP honors as a freshman last season, Max continues to grow in confidence and influence with every match he plays. His work rate, determination, and steady development have made him an increasingly important contributor to the team, and his future is incredibly bright.”
Tyler Jaskelewicz: “TJ was an absolute dynamo again tonight. He was poised for a
standout season and a prolific year on the scoresheet, but due the unfortunate injuries we've faced early this season, TJ willingly put aside individual accolades to strengthen our back line and do what was best for the team (reminiscent of what Nate Kim did for North Penn a few years ago).”
Souderton coach Frank Demas: “All-in-all, I thought we battled hard and played well at times. We unfortunately let one of their players in behind midway through the first half and they scored.
“We are a young team with lots of first-time varsity players and showed a lot of maturity tonight. We didn’t get involved in any nonsense and were good sports. So, I’m glad we got the experience of playing in that environment.”
—Props: “Shout-outs to (AJ) Pisoni, Zyad (Bouidi), and Owen (Alderfer) for their work in the middle all game. (Reece) Hoover was great defensively alongside PJ. They won a lot of balls.”

Liberty Division
Plymouth Whitemarsh 3, Upper Dublin 2
Plymouth Whitemarsh found itself in a 2-0 hole in the first half. But the Colonials rallied, scoring late in the first half and adding two more in the second half to complete the comeback and pull out a thrilling 3-2 victory.
Finn Lafferty netted the Colonials’ game-winner with 30 seconds left in regulation.
Upper Dublin lost three players – including their starting goalkeeper – to injuries during the game. Mike Gossner and Sean Lloyd scored in the first half to stake the Cards out to a 2-0 lead.

--The game: “Overall, this was a great comeback league win for us. We went down two goals due to undisciplined defending. An uncontested floater slipped through the top of crossbar and careless lunging in our box. We were able to chip away 2-1 at half from a shot by Dom.”
—Scoring the tying and winning goals: “In the second half, a free kick from Nikki and header by Will made it 2-2, and in the last 30 seconds, Finn takes a shot on goal through the keeper’s legs to seal the deal.”
—Props: “Big shout-out to Jordan (Milligan) for stepping up big for us defensively coming from CDM (central defensive midfielder) to FB (fullback) after a few players came off the pitch due to injury.”
Upper Dublin coach Noah Johnson:
—The game: "It's one of those things where your starting goalie gets injured and two other injuries happened, and you get tired because these subs aren't used to playing these amount of minutes. It's asking for a lot.
"The biggest thing was and I was pretty happy to see was that some of the guys found their voice. There's always positives that come out of negative results, but we definitely need to start getting some results soon.
"We'll figure it out. They're aware you can only make so many excuses. We have Springfield on Thursday, so it's time to rest, recover and switch focuses and hopefully do better next time."

Abington opened the scoring about 10 minutes into Tuesday’s Liberty Division game and rolled to a 9-0 victory over Quakertown.
Jaza Vasquez led the Ghosts with three goals and one assist. Kyle Kretschman scored twice, and freshman Lucas Arruda chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Abington coach Isaac Pitkow: “It was an amazing performance from our team coming off the disappointing tie we had against Archbishop Ryan this past Friday. It was a near perfect result for us, and we hope to carry this momentum forward to our huge game against the Westtown School on Friday.”
—Scoring rundown: “The first goal was scored by senior Zak Yurchyshyn. About 10 minutes into the first half, a short corner was played that led to a shot from the top of the box by senior Samuel Arruda. The shot hit the post and Zach scored off the rebound. The second goal was from a free kick from outside the box that was taken quickly by Samuel Arruda, who assisted senior forward Jaza Vasquez for his first goal of the day. The third goal was a breakaway for senior Kyle Kretschman assisted by Jaza Vasquez.
“Shortly into the second half, we extended our lead with another goal from Jaza, who received a beautiful long pass from senior Sean Westmoreland. Jaza brought the ball down and beat his defender before finishing calmly into the far post. Jaza Vasquez completed his hat trick with a header goal off of a long throw from Carter Shannon. The sixth goal of the day came from Kyle Kretschman, who was brought down in the box for a penalty kick, which he proceeded to score.
“The seventh goal of the day was scored by junior midfielder Stanley Waite. The ball was played across by senior winger Conor Chapin and Waite scored off of a beautiful one-time finish.
“The last two goals of the day involved freshman midfielder Lucas Arruda, the younger brother of senior forward Samuel Arruda. For the eighth goal, Lucas played a 30-yard ball over the top to senior forward Conor Chapin, who beat his defender and finished well to the far post. For the ninth and final goal of the day, Lucas won the ball off a turnover and shot from just outside the 18 with both power and accuracy to beat the goalkeeper.”

Wissahickon 1, Hatboro-Horsham 0
An early goal and a late save were huge as Wissahickon picked up a 1-0 victory over Hatboro-Horsham.
Aidan Siemion netted what would be the only goal of the game just five minutes in, and the Trojans made it hold up for the game-winner. Goalkeeper Austin Yeh made a big save on a penalty kick to preserve the shutout.

Wissahickon coach Stuart Malcolm: “A good, positive start led to an early goal that was enough to win the contest. A solid performance by the team managing to defend a one-goal lead for 75 minutes. Huge PK save in the second half by Austin Yeh to preserve the win.”

Springfield Twp 7, Cheltenham 1
Cheltenham scored first. Then Springfield Twp responded – quickly and often.
The visiting Spartans netted three goals in the first half and added four in the second half to roll to a 7-1 victory over Cheltenham in Tuesday’s Freedom Division matchup.
Brendan Noonan led the Spartans with two goals and two assists. Eden Ha scored a pair and added one assist.

Springfield Twp coach Riley Woron: “This was a tale of two halves. The first 20 minutes of the game we moved the ball well but just didn’t seem to have that one dangerous pass or one clean window to shoot. Cheltenham sent us a wake-up call on a corner that bounced around a couple of times and were able to tuck it in the back of the net. Our boys showed great resilience and scored the tying goal moments later.”
—Building momentum: “Once we proved we could score, it seemed to lift the weight off our shoulders and the chances opened up. In the second half, we were able to slow the game down in possession and find those clinical passes in the final third for high scoring opportunities. Credit to Cheltenham’s goalie who made some great saves throughout the whole game and didn’t let the scoreboard change their intensity.”

William Tennent 4, New Hope-Solebury 0
Charlie Murtha posted the shutout and Brayden Hahn poked in a pair of goals as William Tennent topped New Hope-Solebury in Tuesday’s Freedom Division game.
The Panthers led 2-0 at halftime and added a pair after the break, with Reesa Markowski capping off the scoring with 10 minutes left in the game.
