Pennsbury & Upper Dublin picked up wins in SOL baseball action Wednesday.

PENNSBURY 8, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 7 (10 INNINGS resumed game)
Thirteen minutes.
That’s all it took to determine a winner in the resumption of Tuesday’s game that was halted because of darkness after nine innings with the two teams deadlocked at 7-7.
“We had to treat it like we were going there and playing a full game,” said Pennsbury coach Joe Pesci said, whose team left Pennsbury at 2 pm for the 4 pm game.
At 4:13, the game was over.
The Falcons won it without collecting a hit. With one out in the top of the 10th, Mike Sogness drew a walk and moved up to second on a groundout by Danny Seidler.
“Seidler hit a missile at the pitcher, and he knocked it down and threw him out, but it advanced Sogness to second,” Pesci said.
Sogness advanced to third on a passed ball, and Henry Garlits drew a two-out walk, and Sogness scored a run that stood as the game-winner on a wild pitch.
“Mike had great reads,” Pesci said.
Zach McLean, who had pitched an inning-and-a-third the preceding day, closed it out with a one-two-three 10th, striking out a pair.
Danny Seidler’s two-hit effort led the Falcons and included a triple and two RBIs.
The Hawks, who held the advantage in hits, were led by their two, three and four batters - Jimmy Clark, Owen McLean and Reed Curtier - who combined for six hits. Nick DiSalvio and Jeremy Jordan did not allow a hit in four shutout innings in relief for the Hawks.
The win evened the three-game series at one game apiece, and this was a bounce-back win for the Falcons after dropping their first game of the season Monday.

Key inning: Top of sixth – Trailing 5-3, Pennsbury put four runs on the board in the sixth. Brendan Zuckerman was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, and Tyler Lee followed with a single. A run scored on a Rock South error on a bunt by Michael Sogness. Danny Seidler drove home a pair when he lined a triple to right field and later scored on a wild pitch, giving the Falcons a 7-5 lead.
Pennsbury coach Joe Pesci:
--McLean comes up big in relief: “(Zach McLean) had thrown the day before but was only at 15 pitches. Then he came in today got a strikeout, a fly out and a strikeout, and that was just massive.
“We have a starter we’re going to use tomorrow, but we knew we might have to use him today. Zach had only pitched maybe two other innings this year that I can remember. Coming in and giving us that first win of his career was really big for us as a senior to come in and do that. So maybe he carved out a role for himself. He gave us two-and-a-third really important innings.”
--Bouncing back from first setback: “We played all those games and went 9-0, and we were making mistakes but were able to get over it. Then we go against CR South on Monday, and we made mistakes that cost us, and we lose a one-run game. To be able to come back and beat (Reed) Curtier, who we haven’t beaten in a couple years - we haven’t been able to beat him, and sneaking that win out today, we go into tomorrow with some momentum.”

UPPER DUBLIN 9, PENN CHARTER 8
A one-out RBI single in the bottom of the seventh by Matthew Logerstedt gave the Cards the come-from-behind walk-off win over Penn Charter. The Cards trailed by one heading into the bottom of the seventh after Penn Charter broke a 7-7 tie with a run in the top of the inning.
The team’s resiliency was on display all afternoon in a contest they trailed 7-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth.
UD trimmed three runs off that deficit in the bottom of the fifth that was highlighted by a two-run triple by Luke Caron. The Cards added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth to even the score 7-7, capitalizing on a pair of Penn Charter miscues.
That set the stage for the dramatic seventh.
Logerstedt, Gavin Litten and Anthony Hammill led the Cards with two hits each.
Aiden Stephenson notched the win on the mound. He allowed one hit and one run (unearned) in two innings.

Key inning: Bottom of seventh – Trailing by one after Penn Charter scored the go-ahead run in the top of the inning, the Cards rallied. Anthony Hammill was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, and Jonathan Thomas followed and drew a walk. Will Claxton’s single loaded the bases. Hammill scored the tying run on a Penn Charter miscue. Matthew Logerstedt’s ground single to center plated Claxton with the game-winner.
Upper Dublin coach Ed Wall:
--The game: “First half of the game we had some missed opportunities and made mistakes especially on the base paths. It wasn’t pretty. Our pitchers threw a ton of strikes, and Penn Charter hit it to every part of the park. I liked how our young pitchers battled through it and got tougher. The team’s perseverance today was great, our guys needed to feel that. I’m excited to see our progress from this point on.”
Up next: Upper Dublin will travel to Strath Haven for a non-league game Friday.
