The Flying Cardinals rode the complete game shutout effort of Luke Caron to notch a win in the third game of their series with the Colonials. Caron allowed just three hits while walking one and striking out 11. He threw 92 pitches – 66 for strikes – and faced just 26 batters.
PW’s duo of Spencer Rosen and AJ Landrey combined on a two-hitter, but the Cardinals benefitted from a pair of Colonial miscues to plate a pair of unearned runs.

Key inning: Bottom of the first – The Cardinals plated the only run Caron would need when Michael Lombardo, who drew a leadoff walk, scored on a single by Gavin Litten to center field.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, WILLIAM PENN CHARTER 1
Jason Abert turned in a strong outing on the mound and also drove in two runs – including the game-winner - while Sean Hill led the Patriots at the plate with a perfect 4-for-4 effort. Konnor Ware recorded the game’s final two outs to earn the save.

Key inning: Top of sixth – Sean Hill led off with a line drive single to right, stole second moved up to third on a passed ball and scored when Jason Abert lined a single to center field, giving the Patriots a 2-1 lead on their way to the win.
Central Bucks East coach Kyle Dennis:
“Sean Hill had a great day at the plate today. He has been hitting out of the leadoff spot and set the table for us to pitch with a lead in the early innings. He continued to hit balls hard all day. Up and down the lineup, our guys did a great job of executing our offense.
“Jason Abert was great offensively and on the mound. Contributing huge RBIs and a very strong performance on the mound, surrendering only three hits to a strong Penn Charter team. We had some defensive miscues today, but we were able to shut them down and not have one mistake turn into two and cost us runs. It also helps when your pitchers don't walk anyone until the seventh inning.
“Konnor Ware came in to get the final two outs in the seventh and did a great job to earn the save.”

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 6, DOWNINGTOWN WEST 3
The Titans rallied from an early deficit to earn the non-league win over the visiting Whippets. Sawyer Freeman turned in a solid outing on the mound to earn the win.

Key inning: Bottom of third – The Titans turned a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 lead with a four-run third inning. Connor Markowitz reached base on an error to open the inning, and Sean Kivlin followed with a single. With two outs, Jake Madden singled to load the bases for James Schaefer, who emptied them with a three-run double to center field. Jake Blum followed with an RBI single, and the Titans had a lead they would not lose.

“It was a total team win. It was very encouraging how the guys played for each other. Guys picked it up for each other all game both in the field and at the plate. Truly selfless play.”
--Strong start: “Sawyer Freeman gave us a great start. He’s a gamer. He came out and showed that he’s up for any challenge.”

DOCK MENNONITE ACADEMY 3, SOUDERTON 0
The Indians managed just two hits against a pair of Dock Mennonite pitchers, falling in Tuesday’s non-league contest.
A highlight of the night was the standout starting effort of Johnny Byrwa, who did not allow a hit in three shutout innings, striking out eight and walking one. Michael Lyons, Ethan Lesh and Brett Pollock each threw a shutout inning in relief.
