The Falcons fell behind early but rallied to take a 4-3 lead after one period and then extended that to 7-4 after two on their way to the win in Monday’s opening round of the SHSHL Tournament at Grundy.
Shane Hicks (4g, 1a) and Jacob Sarver (2g, 3a) both had five-point games to lead the Falcons.
Early on, it was the Rams opening up an early 2-0 lead, thanks to back-to-back goals by James Rush – the first with assists from Kaden Gunning and Landan Bishop and the second unassisted. The Falcons answered with three straight goals – two consecutive from Hicks (Sarver assist on the first and assists from Shane Gleisner and Sarver on the second) and one goal from Sarver (Jaxon Pinto assist).
A goal by Pennridge’s Ryan Burke (Dean Venner assist) evened the score at 3-3, but Hicks scored his third goal of the period, this one on a power play with assists from Gavin Schlotter and Sarver to give the Falcons a 4-3 lead.
An unassisted power play goal by Gleisner less than a minute into the final period gave the Falcons a 5-3 lead and turned out to be the game-winner. Less than three minutes later, Rush connected on a power play goal, using assists from Bishop and Venner.
The Falcons upped their lead to 7-4, thanks to back-to-back goals by Connor Gray (Gavin Schlotter/Francis DeLucia assists) and Sarver (DeLucia/Hicks assists).
Hicks connected on the lone goal of the final period, connecting on an unassisted goal with 1:12 remaining.
Pennsbury will face top-seeded North Penn in a semifinal game Wednesday at Hatfield Ice at 6:30 pm.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 1
The Titans won a thriller over the Patriots, rallying for two third-period goals to erase a 1-0 East lead that stood since the opening minutes of the second period.
Joseph Slobodrian scored the equalizer three minutes into the final period, using assists from Ryan Frey and John Lord. With six minutes remaining in regulation, Frey scored a goal that stood as the game-winner, using assists from Dominic Gibson and Dominic DiMarino.
Earlier in the game, Ethan Cenci broke a scoreless tie five minutes into the second period, using assists form Samuel Gottesman and Tyson Cowan. The Patriots led until Slobodrian’s equalizer.
Keeping the Patriots in the game was goalie Cameron Young, who turned away 46 of 48 shots he faced in a dazzling performance – including all 30 that came his way through the first and second periods.
Nathan Napolitano turned in a gem of his own in goal, turning away 17 of 18 shots he faced to earn the win.
Central Bucks South will face second-seeded Council Rock South in an SHSHL semifinal game at Grundy on Wednesday at 7:20 pm.
