Double Play Baseball & Softball Camp

Double Play Baseball and Softball Camps are accepting registrations for boys and girls ages 6-15.  Campers are guided through some of the following activities, all taught at varying degrees of difficulty based on each individual player’s skill levels:

• Hitting Stations
• Pitching Mechanics
• Bunting Techniques
• Daily Games
• Fielding Drills
• Base Running Drills
• Skills Competitions
• Awards Ceremonies.

Double Play Baseball Camps will be held three different weeks at two different locations: at Hatboro-Horsham High School the week of July 18 and at Abington Junior High School the week of July 25.

Double Play Softball Camps will be held at Abington Junior High School the week of July 25.

Camp Directors are:

Pete Moore – Head coach of Hatboro-Horsham since 2002. The 1999 Atlantic-10 Pitcher of the Year while at Temple University, he also played minor league baseball with the Madison Blackwolf and the Allentown Ambassadors.

Toby Fisher – Assistant head coach at La Salle University. Fisher returned to his alma mater after three years at Temple University as the hitting and pitching coach and as an assistant coach at Hatboro-Horsham and Germantown Academy.

John Thygeson – Former GM and head coach of the Morelanders American Legion team. He is a volunteer coach in the East Abington Little League. Thygeson played at Southern Connecticut State University.

Ellie White – 21^st year as head coach at Abington High School. A four-year starting shortstop at East Stroudsburg, she is still second in career assists.

Operating since 2005, the staff at Double Play Baseball & Softball Camp takes great pride in running a highly organized and fun-filled week of baseball and softball for its campers. Double Play Baseball & Softball Camp builds upon the same skills and attitudes learned from coaches during their Little League season and from their families all year round. Campers not only learn baseball and softball skills, but they also learn sportsmanship, teamwork and self-confidence.
